Curator’s statement
I had a chance to tour the new Six Senses Rome during opening week. They were still working on some punch list items but for the most part the hotel was up and running. Located between the Piazza Navona and the Trevi Fountain in a former bank building. Calming, modern earth tones throughout the property set the tone for a complete escape from the city outside. The lush interior courtyard and well-landscaped rooftop provide a respite from the streets of Rome.

Arrival/departure information: There is a dedicated area for taxi and transportation drop off and intimate welcome desk and reception area. You have an immediate sense of leaving the city outside and entering a peaceful urban oasis. Beyond the reception lobby is an interior courtyard that mixes indoor and outdoor space seamlessly with a large steel and glass roof.
Several Room Categories: Classic (small but well appointed, Superior (comfortable room and bath), Deluxe (roomier with seating area to relax and larger bath) and a variety of Suites in several sizes including some with balconies. I'm including the smallest of the videos here but have videos of the larger rooms if someone is interested in knowing more. All were well appointed. The smaller rooms had somewhat awkward bathroom doors but the bathrooms themselves were spacious.
Pros: great location, abundance of amenities, killer rooftop and spa. Amenities include a free schedule of events throughout the day as well as curated activities on request. The spa included several pools, massage rooms, yoga room, sauna, and a heated hammam.
Cons: Price may be limiting for some travelers. Most rooms offer a limited city or courtyard view.
I thought the rooftop was well designed and included several distinct areas that could be divided and customized to fit a clients needs. A large high top table for cooking classes, a smaller private area for an intimate gathering, etc. Lots of options for a client looking to host an event.
I love a well appointed nightstand with plenty of chargers and light sources (including a tiny reading light in the wall)!
We dined in the restaurant and really enjoyed their private label olive oil. The menu was creative but included plenty of family friendly options like the always popular pizza margarita.
