Virgin Voyages' Valiant Lady is a ship in her own class. She is an attention-getter standing stoically tall and warship-like in every port where she arrives. Valiant Lady came into service in May 2021 and offers her guests many intimate opportunities for a fantastic cruise vacation.

Recently, I sailed on a seven-day voyage out of San Juan, Puerto Rico, on a great itinerary with stops in Martinique, Aruba, Curacao and St. Kitts. If you plan to travel to any of these Caribbean islands, I can certainly help you plan your next vacation there or offer points of interest for you to visit. For this travel guide, however, I want to focus on the Valiant Lady.

If you have never traveled on Virgin Voyages, then you are in for a treat. First you must know that they only allow ages 18 and up to travel on their ships, so you will be able to enjoy some quiet and relaxing times without kids running around, if that is your desire. You must remember to download their app on your smartphone for each passenger because that is how you will communicate with fellow passengers and make reservations for onboard venues. Another difference you may notice if you have never sailed on a Virgin Voyages ship is that you will wear an electronic bracelet instead of a sail card that many other cruise lines tend to use.

Of the many onboard restaurants, I would recommend The Wake, a steakhouse with a variety of menu options, as my first choice. There was not one thing that didn’t hit the spot! Another recommendation on the ship is the Test Kitchen. Here, you will find that the menu changes midway through your voyage. I experienced items that I wouldn’t normally order but kept an open mind and wasn’t disappointed. The presentation was stunning for every serving. These are just a few of my recommendations but none of the restaurants on board were a disappointment.

Finally, if you are still contemplating a Virgin Voyages sailing, I would for sure recommend you try it for yourself. This review is only a mere overview of my experience, but I will be setting sail on one of their ships again soon. The experience is a bit different than what other cruise lines offer, so if you are looking for a different experience with personal touches, give me a call and let’s plan your next vacation on Virgin Voyages!
