Embrace Old-World Charm and Modern Art at the Elizabeth Unique Hotel in Rome
Curator’s statement

Stepping through the grand entrance of the Elizabeth Unique Hotel is like stepping into a timeless tapestry woven from ancient Roman history and a contemporary art museum. This 17th-century former palazzo, transformed by a father-son duo and named after their mother and grandmother, Elizabeth, is a harmonious blend of family warmth and avant-garde vision.

From the moment I discovered the hotel, I knew it would be a special place for my mother-daughter trip to Italy with my mother. We both appreciate the finer details and share a passion for artwork. I couldn’t wait for us to check into this gem.

Unique Design

The hotel is a member of the Design Hotels and features only 37 meticulously designed rooms. From the minute you enter the lobby, you will notice the elevated design and attention to detail, where “evil eye” mirrors and abstract light fixtures juxtapose traditional velvet and toile prints and ornate woodwork. Two of my favorite art pieces were a mural of trees from different perspectives at the top of the first-floor lobby staircase and diptychs of Paris at night.

A brown wall with a gold sign and branches in decorative pots positioned in front of it.

Cozy Comfort

Interior rooms are spacious and charming, with luxurious marble bathrooms. Some configurations, such as the adjacent mansion, can accommodate multiple adults, while other rooms and suites have spa showers or saunas. Rooms also have bathtubs, tablets, Bose speakers, Nespresso coffee makers, numerous closets, sitting areas and more.

On-Site Amenities

Foodies will be just as enchanted by the food and drink at The Bar Bacharach & Bistro, where we enjoyed daily breakfasts, and the shared living room, where we enjoyed grappa nightcaps while perusing coffee-table books.

Memorable Moments

Even after five days at the hotel, there were many surprise-and-delight moments. Whether it was discovering that the toile wallpaper was also the pattern of the hotel’s china or that the mesh metal artwork in the hallway was, in fact, not a sketch, every day was perfectly unique.
