Hotel Review: ULUM Moab
Curator’s statement

In July 2023, just a few months after opening, I visited ULUM Moab for my birthday. As a first time "glamper", I wasn't 100% sure what to expect...and now, besties, I think each one of you needs to dabble in glamping. Even my 'not boujee' boyfriend was sold immediately.

ULUM Moab is just what Moab, UT was needing. Luxury accommodations that still pay tribute and respect to its surroundings, in an eco conscious way. When you pull off the highway onto the long dirt road that leads you to ULUM, you right away feel a sense of both calmness and anticipation.

We parked, and immediately an employee pulled up to us in a golf cart, ready to take our bags and give us a ride to reception. Green flag. During check in, my eye caught a shelf with Vuori merch aside other cute ULUM merch. The general manager gave us a tour of the property and gave us the run down: adventure travel meets high end amenities meets nature inspired design.

View from the tent with the outdoors looking into a desert setting.

The property consists of ultra luxe canvas tents with the softest name brand linens, furniture and a wood stove. Yes, they have electricity and air conditioning. Each one has a stunning view, with space in between so you don't feel like you're bumping into your neighbors. There's 3 dipping pools, each a different temperature. Smore's and fire pits available each night. Daily activities, including yoga. Dogs are allowed (for a fee) - big win for me, a dog mom. You can plan a guided climbing tour on site, along with other outdoor activities.

Once we settled into our tent, it was hard to leave. We wanted to go explore the surrounding trails, go in the pools, eat, and enjoy the dope tent all at once. We opted for exploring the trails, as golden hour was about to hit. Sunsets are phenomenal here, as you're facing west and have open desert for miles in front of you. Dinner time came and we opted to eat at the property's restaurant. Knowing it was my birthday, they gifted me champagne and dessert with a birthday message. We soaked in the pools after dinner, had late night smores and headed back to our tent where we sat on the porch and gazed up at shooting stars till we tired.

Chocolate dipped strawberries on a plate with Happy Birthday written in chocolate.

ULUM really is a special place, and the fact that they are doing minimal damage to the environment while still providing an exceptional experience makes me want to send everyone here. But also send no one because I want it for myself, hehe.

Need to know

ULUM is located 45-55 minutes from the area's national parks and 30 mins from the town of Moab. It's family friendly, but also incredible for couples celebrating anything or nothing.
