This Christmas market trip across Germany and Austria with my family was a deeply personal journey. We reconnected with memories of our past while creating new ones. The enchanting atmosphere of these markets and the joy of discovering unique ornaments and savoring local delicacies brought us closer together. It wasn't just about revisiting places of significance from our past and experiencing the festive spirit that makes these markets unique. It was an adventure that reminded us of the beauty of traditions and the importance of family.

Our journey began on Thursday, December 14th, with a flight from Washington DC, to Frankfurt, aiming for a nostalgic return to Stuttgart, a place of significance from our past where we had been stationed in the military. Our weekend in Stuttgart was dedicated to exploring its vibrant Christmas market. The markets, bustling with vendors selling various ornaments, crafts and delicacies, were a feast for the senses. Our culinary experiences varied from traditional bratwurst to unique German cookies like Lebkuchen. Our adventure also took us beyond Germany to Austria, visiting Salzburg and Innsbruck, each market with distinct flair and offerings.
