Habitas Bacalar is the second Habitas property to open in Mexico, they now have one in San Miguel and some others coming soon. Habitas is wellness centered and always choose one of a kind amazing locations for their properties.

Getting to Bacalar can be tricky but the quickest option is flying to Chetumal from Mexico City and then it’s a 30-min drive from the airport to Habitas. The second option would be recommended if you have more time and are looking for a longer trip, which would be flying into Cancun airport and then making the up to 5-hour drive, stopping in Tulum along the way.

The rooms at Habitas are very luxurious tents which include wooden floors and airconditioning with a dreamy outdoor shower. All rooms in the property are the same the only thing that varies is the location Lagoon room, Lagoon Breeze or Jungle room.

The lagoon is beautiful crystal clear water and you can basically walk in and feel like you are in a swimming pool. That is one special feature about the Habitas location. Activities include kayaking, paddle boarding, yoga classes, temazcal ceremony (quite the experience), and a tour through the lagoon. The hotel takes care of setting all of these up for you!

There are two restaurant sitting areas which have the same menus. The food is locally sourced and cooked with pretty amazing flavors. The offerings are very plant based centered, but they do have some steak and seafood which is cooked on a grill giving it a smoky charred flavor that is truly delicious.
