Property Spotlight: Sea Island Resort
Curator’s statement

Our multi-generational family stayed in the cottages at Sea Island Resort which allowed plenty of bedrooms and space for everyone to spread out while also enjoying all of the luxuries and amenities of being a guest at Sea Island. This beautiful area, exceptional food and service, spectacular accommodations and attention to detail are just a few of the reasons families and friends continue to come back again and again.

Where to stay

The first moment you drive onto Sea Island Resort you are mesmerized. The spanish moss, the huge oak trees... it is truly enchanting. There are breathtakingly beautiful views of sunsets, the beach and the marsh to see and meticulously maintained grounds to explore. It provides a sanctuary that is built for a completely restful stay and utter tranquility.

The accommodations range from suites, one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom suites to multi-bedroom cottages. Our cottage had six bedrooms so it was the perfect spot for grandparents, parents and kids to all feel like they had their own space. The cottage had a very large private pool that felt like an oasis all of our own (and this was in addition to the pools at the resort that we could use!)

Food is always a huge focal point on any vacation with my family and Sea Island Resort serves it up well. We enjoyed delicious seafood at Southern Tide along the ocean and mouth-watering Italian food at Tavola in The Cloister. We have several summer birthdays in my family and I wanted to celebrate at our dinner at Tavola as it was the last night of our vacation. I let the staff know ahead of time and they made the most beautiful and scrumptous cake - it was a perfect surprise for our birthday girls! Sea Island Resort really takes service to the next level. Other restaurants that we enjoyed off the resort on St. Simons Island were the Georgia Sea Grill (my husband and I enjoyed a perfect anniversary dinner here), Porch where the whole family could gather on picnic tables for lunch and the kids loved Moo Cow Ice Cream for dessert!

Sea Island Resort offers up every activity you can imagine to complete a multi-generational family vacation (or for anyone looking for a relaxing seaside vacation at a luxurious resort from couples to families to friends). There is literally something for everyone of all ages. Aside from lounging along the beach or pool, there is laundry list of other activities like kayaking, paddleboarding, Hobie Cat® rentals, horseback riding, bowling, tennis, pickleball, golf, shooting school, a nature center, bike rentals, spa, listening to the bagpiper at The Lodge and roasting s'mores, day trips to Jekyll Island... honestly the list is never-ending.
