One of the highlights of San Montano is undoubtedly its panoramic pools, perched on a hilltop overlooking the valley and the sparkling blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea. The main thermal water pool is a haven of relaxation, complete with a soothing waterfall and invigorating whirlpool jets. Surrounding the pool is a terrace adorned with sun loungers and umbrellas, offering breathtaking views of the sea and the rest of the island. Adjacent to the main pool is a whirlpool tub nestled amid bare rock and Mediterranean vegetation, providing the perfect vantage point to witness the spectacular sunsets over San Montano Bay. And when I say spectacular, I’ve never seen anything like it. The resort's commitment to preserving the natural beauty of the landscape is evident in every detail, from the carefully manicured gardens to the fragrant lemon trees that dot the property.

San Montano also offers a complimentary shuttle service to the Bay of San Montano, where guests can enjoy a day of sun and sand on the pristine beach that is nestled right between sea and mountain. The San Montano beach club offers a range of amenities, from lounge chairs to refreshments, curating a day of complete bliss by the shore. Families traveling with children will appreciate the calm waters of the bay, perfect for little ones to splash and play to their heart's content.

The accommodations at the resort are equally impressive. The rooms are light and airy, providing a serene sanctuary to retreat to after a day of exploration (or soaking up the sun). My room featured a charming balcony overlooking the garden, where I enjoyed quiet mornings sipping coffee and taking in the beauty of my surroundings. The staff's attention to detail and commitment to guest comfort were evident throughout my stay. This was exemplified by their swift and gracious response to my travel companions' request for a room change to accommodate their young children.

In addition to the resort's many amenities, guests can take advantage of the shuttle service to explore the charming town of Ischia. Despite a slight delay in the shuttle's arrival, the tranquil garden with its panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea made the wait more than worthwhile. Ischia itself is fun to explore, with its winding streets, quaint cafés and breathtaking vistas around every corner. There are also several restaurants that offer that quintessential coastal Italian menu - not to be missed.
