Curator’s statement

My husband and I recently had the pleasure of sailing Aqua Class on a four-night cruise to the Bahamas. Having frequented the Bahamas on previous cruises, this one was all about the journey. You can certainly count on Celebrity to provide an experience that leaves you wanting more! A get-away filled with delicious food, relaxing days and entertainment-filled evenings. Come on board and sail into the sunset!

Blu Restaurant

AquaClass on Celebrity Cruise Line is a class of staterooms designed to provide an experience for the mind, body and spirit with amenities reinforcing health and wellness. To keep you hydrated, there are daily water bottles for each occupant. The in-room dining menu has clean-eating options in addition to traditional fare. Complimentary fitness classes are available and two yoga mats are in your cabin for your use. AquaClass passengers have their own dedicated restaurant, Blu, which serves breakfast and dinner with clean dining offerings and nightly dinner specials. Unlimited access to the Persian Garden located within the spa is a definite highlight.

Herbal steamroom; Persian Garden

As experienced Celebrity cruises, we were enticed to try AquaClass mostly due to having the Persian Garden included in our cruise fare. This was something we always paid extra for on our other cruises. Persian Garden, aka a thermal suite, is a wonderful escape from the activity and excitement happening in other areas of the ship. The central focus is the heated tile loungers, which all face floor-to-ceiling windows for the ultimate in relaxation. It is a quiet space where you will find people laying back reading a book, listening to music with earbuds or taking a nap. In addition, there is a steam room as well as an aromatic suite. In each of the mens' and women's locker rooms you will find the sauna. Your mind, body and spirit will definitely feel nourished after time in the Persian Garden.

Blu is a culinary delight. For healthy eaters, picky eaters and even for us carnivores, there are selections to please all. Blu is an intimate setting and requires no reservations. The staff are attentive and eager to please. Items not appearing on the menu can be requested, such as a traditional Caesar salad, a different choice of vegetable or adding a baked potato, just to name a few. A sommelier attends to your wine needs, making suggestions to pair with your dinner selections. Even the selection of desserts allows for fruit and no-sugar-added choices as well as perennial favorites such as creme brûlée, chocolate cake and cheesecake. Some of our favorites included potato vichyssoise, crab bisque, spinach and ricotta ravioli and rack of lamb. I promise, you won't leave Blu hungry!

Need to know

We chose to upgrade our wonderful AquaClass experience by adding Premier Access. This provided further enhancements that were a definite plus. This add-on package includes priority embarkation: an awesome feature that allows you to start your cruise vacation that much earlier! Also included is an embarkation lunch in Grand Cuvee (the main dining restaurant) which is a nice kick-off since Blu is not open for lunch. All in-room dining is free of charge: no delivery fee or gratuity added. Premium wifi for two devices per person is also part of Premium Access. In the theater, there is a reserved section for Premier Access guests so you don't need to worry about getting great seats for Celebrity's amazing shows. Lastly, at the end of the cruise, you have a separate waiting area for priority disembarkation. Your luggage is tagged and located closest to the exit of the terminal. Please note: Premium Access can be added to any class of stateroom class but is not needed for suite-class cabins.

Please note: A great place to grab a healthy lunch option is the Spa Cafe. In addition to a variety of salads and fruit available, they have a vegetable wrap and a turkey club sandwich with avocado made to order. Delicious! These are all included items with your cruise fare. You can also get a smoothie prepared for a small extra cost if it is not included in your drink package.

Two additional locations on the ship to relax and recharge are the Solarium and the Library. The Solarium is a glass-covered pool area with hot tub and loungers, tranquil and calming as access during most hours of the day is adults only. The Library is, as its name states: a nice place to read a book, play a game or just chill.
