Biking While Leaf Peeping Vermont to Montreal
Curator’s statement

In October of 2022, my husband and I cycled from Northeast Vermont to the Province of Quebec. While taking in the beautiful fall colors of the region, we rode through quaint towns, river valleys, charming rural neighborhoods and along serene roads with beautiful views. We spent two nights at Manoir Havoy in North Hatley Canada, where the colors and lake side views were unforgettable.

We spent two nights in Stowe, Vermont a town noted for its ski area. Stowe offers numerous dining opportunities as well as quaint local shops. One evening we dined at Michaels on the Hill, a member of the Vermont Fresh Network. A warm and friendly atmosphere with an excellent menu. We paid a visit to the Ben and Jerry factory which was so fun as well as The Cold Hollow Cider Mill where we had delicious apple cider donuts and drinks. Lets just say there is no shortage of tasty food in Stowe. Good thing we were riding our bikes.

In Canada, our charming stay at Manoir Havoy was unforgettable. It is the perfect place to relax and admire the foliage. We took advantage of their beautiful spa and the lovely grounds which includes a cozy library, lakeside fire pits and tennis courts to new a few. We also took the canoe out for a very peaceful paddle around the lake. Admiring all the foliage from the water was pretty amazing. One afternoon we rode to Fromagerie La Station in Compton tasting award winning locally produced cheeses in this family owned business. Across the way from the farm was a local craft fair with great wearables and locally sourced goods like jams, breads, maple syrup, chocolate and cider.

A beautiful view
