Fairmont Banff Springs Review
Curator’s statement

In September of 2023, my husband and I stayed at the Fairmont Banff Springs in a Gold Mountain View Room and absolutely loved it. The views from our room of Mount Rundle, Tunnel Mountain, and the Bow River were breathtaking. At night, we caught glimpses of bull elk sleeping in the pasture next to the hotel. We received extraordinary service. Every member of the hotel staff we met was friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to help.

Where to stay

Developed by the Canadian Pacific Railway, the Banff Springs Hotel has been the height of luxury and Canadian hospitality since opening its doors in 1888. This Fairmont property is often called the Castle in the Rockies, and it is no wonder why, with its grand architecture, interior design, and explementary staff. You will feel like royalty during your stay.

The hotel is down the road from Spray Street, the heart of Banff Springs. There are 739 guest rooms and suites - including accessible options - decorated to make you feel cozy and comfortable. The property is dog-friendly, so you are welcome to bring the whole family during your stay.

Further elevate your stay by booking a Fairmont Gold room. I loved this experience during my stay! As a Fairmont Gold guest, I received exclusive amenities and personalized services such as access to a separate courtyard with valet, private check-in area, dedicated concierge, and private lounges serving breakfast, afternoon hor-d'oeuvres, and dessert daily.

The hotel offers endless activities for you to enjoy on the property and within Banff National Park. My husband and I enjoyed a round of golf and sightseeing at the Banff Springs Golf Course. We also celebrated our wedding anniversary with dinner at Castello Italia, the cutest little restaurant on the property! We received ROAM transit passes, making navigating through town and to Banff Gondola easy. There are plenty of other options to take advantage of during your stay. Relax and unwind at the spa, enjoy a round of golf at the Stanley Thompson course, dine at one of the seven restaurants, enjoy horse backing, go on a biking adventure at Vermilion Lakes, venture further on the shuttle to Lake Louise, or check out the hotel’s website for more ideas on how to fill your time during your stay.

As one of Fora’s preferred partners, the following perks will be applied during your stay:

  • Daily breakfast for two

  • Extended check-in/out, subject to availability

  • Upgrade, subject to availability

  • Property credit for your stay

  • Complimentary WiFi
