My Stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Aruba
Curator’s statement

I traveled to Aruba in May 2024 for a work program and was fortunate enough to stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Aruba. This beachfront property feels intimate and secluded despite being on "the strip." With six on-property restaurants, two pools and plenty of swimmable beachfront, there isn't a reason to leave; however, the hotel's prime location also allows for a lovely stroll along the beach to explore other bars and restaurants.

Location

The Ritz-Carlton, Aruba, is located towards the north end of Palm Beach, lovingly referred to as "the strip." About a 20-minute taxi from the airport, this property is situated as the last resort along the beach, allowing for a more secluded atmosphere while still being easily accessible to a variety of bars, restaurants and shopping. The location is ideal for long strolls along the beach or simply floating in the ocean.

Rooms

The Ritz-Carlton, Aruba, boasts exclusively ocean-facing rooms, each featuring a private balcony. Guests can choose from three types of suites. All rooms include a welcome drink, daily housekeeping and turndown service, and complimentary coffee, tea and bottled water are provided. Additionally, guests have access to the fitness center and spa facilities, including saunas, steam rooms and whirlpools.

Property amenities

This resort has two pools: one adults-only pool and one for families. Seating is first come, first-served, but both pools have cabana rental options. While no beach can be private on the island, the resort does have a large expanse of beachfront seating options, a private swimming zone and complimentary non-motorized water sports equipment. Stop by the beach hut, where you can get complimentary sunscreen or tanning oil, water, cooling towels and even a mini library in case you forgot your beach read! Staff will then escort you to the lounge chairs and set them up for you.

After a day spent in the sun, visit the lobby bar and terrace for drinks before stopping by the hotel's casino. This intimate casino offers slots and a variety of tables for an entertaining way to spend your evening. You can also walk next door to the Marriott to enjoy a larger casino environment.

The hotel's relatively large fitness center has top-of-the-line equipment and offers a selection of classes. Make sure to stop by the spa post-workout! This expansive spa includes relaxation lounges, complimentary snacks and water, a steam room, a sauna and a whirlpool. I enjoyed a massage during my stay, and they also offer facials, nail treatments and makeup services.

Dining

The property offers room service and six dining outlets, with something for every meal. Start your morning at Ritual Coffee Bar for grab-and-go food, or visit the expansive breakfast buffet downstairs, which also serves a la carte options.

For lunch, stop by the Madero Pool & Beach Grill or let them come to you, featuring delivery service via segway on the beach. For an Instagram-worthy beach drink, visit the pop-up bar located in the converted VW bus to enjoy a cocktail in your choice of coconut or pineapple! The Divi Sushi Bar in the lobby is not to be missed - I recommend the Madame Jeanette roll.

Dinner can be enjoyed at BLT Steak or Casa Nonna. When visiting Casa Nonna, ask for an outdoor table to enjoy the almost nightly live performances held on the main lawn; I was treated to a lovely saxophone artist, vocals and a violin performance during my stay.

Need to know

The Ritz-Carlton, Aruba, is a great property for almost every occasion! I traveled there for a group event and extended my time for a lavish girls' weekend. This resort is also a popular wedding destination, and it can host a wedding and reception or is an ideal honeymoon getaway. And don't forget the kids! The hotel includes the signature Ritz Kids play area and kid-friendly pool.
