Costa Rica Travel with Toddlers
Curator’s statement

In March 2022, I made my very first trip to Costa Rica and chose the beautiful Springs Resort and Spa Arenal for our stay. The setting is out of a postcard and picturesque overlooking the rainforest and Arenal volcano. It's no wonder CNN Travel voted it as top seven resorts with the most spectacular views.

Every nature and animal lover should make Costa Rica one of the top destinations on their list. But this is exactly why Costa Rica is ideal for families with young children! We took our four year old last spring to Costa Rica and stayed at The Springs Resort and Spa Arenal.

This luxury five-star resort offers the best that Costa Rica has to offer with 28 thermal spring pools with the highest quality mineral content in the Arenal area. Upon arrival at their open-air lobby, we were greeted with a fresh cocktail. The lobby itself has a breathtaking view of the Arenal volcano. A few floors down, guests can enjoy a cocktail at the Laguna Swim-up Bar or rush down the famous Monkey Slide at Perdidos Springs and relax in the natural hot springs riverside at the Club Rio Outdoor Center- the on-site Adventure Center and Wildlife Sanctuary.

Club Rio is located on a mile-long stretch of the incredibly scenic Arenal River and offers tubing, kayaking, horseback riding, rock climbing, nature hikes and other exciting tours all in one place and within the resort property. One of Club Rio's main attractions is its Wildlife Sanctuary that is home to over 100 rescued animals like toucans, sloths, monkeys, crocodiles, jungle cats and more. The sanctuary tour is a unique and interactive experience that is a must for all ages.

While the views, experiences, and atmosphere do not disappoint, nor does the food! The resort has five unique dining options including the award winning Las Ventanas restaurant, a fine dining venue, and the festive Ginger Sushi experience. Inspired by its appearance on ABC's "The Bachelor" guests are offered private Romantic Dinners and elaborate in-room Romance Packages. With so many dining options, you'll feel like you're at a luxury all-inclusive.

Need to know

I recommend The Springs Resort & Spa Arenal to clients that are looking for a mix of nature, adventure, and relaxation all in one place. It's perfect for couples and families.
