Site Inspection at Six Senses in La Sagesse, Grenada
Curator’s statement

Grenada is dear to my heart, as this is where I spent much of my childhood, with my parents hailing from Carriacou. Returning to this beautiful island after experiencing the devastation of Hurricane Beryl in 2024 was deeply emotional, but the warm welcome I received at Six Senses made all the difference. The staff embraced us like family, providing a comforting refuge during a difficult time. During my stay, I had the privilege of conducting a site inspection, which allowed me to fully appreciate the resort’s commitment to sustainability, luxury and genuine hospitality.

Arriving at Six Senses La Sagesse, Grenada, after a long and tiring boat ride from Carriacou, was like finding an oasis after a challenging journey. The warmth of the welcome, complete with a refreshing, deliciously scented cold towel, instantly eased the fatigue and set the tone for the restful experience that lay ahead. The resort's tranquil and inviting atmosphere made the transition from the exhausting trip to pure relaxation seamless. Known as the Isle of Spice, Grenada lives up to its name. You can literally smell the rich aroma of spices like nutmeg and cinnamon in the air, adding a unique sensory delight to the experience.

After checking in, we were taken by buggy to Sea Fire, one of the resort's three beachfront restaurants. The soothing sound of waves crashing against the rocks provided the perfect backdrop to our dinner. As a vegan, I was thrilled with the menu, which offered a variety of delicious plant-based options. The cauliflower steak I ordered was so perfectly cooked and flavourful that I wished I had ordered another. My meal was topped off with a vegan panna cotta flavored with hibiscus, which my usually picky kids couldn’t resist helping me finish. Leaving me, once again, wishing I had ordered two.

Six Senses’ commitment to sustainability is one of the reasons I love this brand. Their on-site organic garden supplies much of the produce for the meals, and eco-friendly practices are woven into every aspect of the resort, creating a harmonious balance with nature.

When we arrived at our Bay View Pool Suite, the breath-taking lagoon and sea views, paired with the calming sounds of crickets, made the entire journey feel worth it. The suite was designed to maximize the stunning natural scenery, ensuring that every guest enjoys the serene beauty of Grenada.

The resort offers a wide range of activities to suit every interest and age group. For those seeking adventure, there’s a water sports center, while families can take advantage of the kids club and in-house babysitting services. Older kids will enjoy the teen lounge, and creative souls can try their hand at tea blending or candle making. There’s also a gym offering various classes, including air yoga — though at five months pregnant, I had to pass on that one. For those looking to unwind, the spa provides a variety of treatments, and the library offers a quiet retreat. The resort even features an outdoor cinema and sustainability workshops for those interested in learning more about eco-friendly living.

Kids enjoying their dinner

With two stunning beaches, La Sagesse and L'Anse Pere, Six Senses, La Sagesse truly offers something for everyone. Whether you're seeking adventure, relaxation or a chance to reconnect with nature in a luxurious setting. With the heat and the size of the resort, getting around is easy. While you can take a leisurely stroll if you wish, you can also call down for a buggy to pick you up whenever you need to. Making your stay as comfortable as possible. Despite the exhausting journey, the resorts warm welcome, the scent of spices in the air and the array of offerings made it all worth it.

Need to know

I recommend Six Senses La Sagesse for anyone seeking a luxurious yet sustainable retreat in one of the most beautiful corners of the Caribbean. Grenada, known as the Isle of Spice for a reason, envelops you in the rich scents of nutmeg, cinnamon and other spices that fill the air. From the moment we arrived, the resort’s warm welcome and personalized service made me and my family feel instantly at home. It transformed the exhaustion of our journey into a sense of relaxation and luxury. The resort is designed to showcase the stunning natural beauty of Grenada. Every room, including our Bay View Pool Suite, offering breath-taking views of the lagoon and sea. This constant connection to nature is one of the highlights of staying here.

For those who prioritize a plant-based diet and sustainable living, Six Senses La Sagesse is a true paradise. As a vegan, I was delighted by the diverse and delicious dining options, all sourced from the resort’s own organic garden. Sustainability is woven into every aspect of the resort, reflecting the Six Senses brand's strong commitment to eco-friendly practices.

The resort’s versatility in activities ensures that every guest, regardless of age or interest, finds something to enjoy. From watersports and creative workshops to spa treatments and a kids club, there’s truly something for everyone. The convenience and comfort of the resort are further enhanced by the option to either take a leisurely stroll or request a buggy for easy transportation around the property. This makes it simple to navigate even in the tropical heat.

Overall, Six Senses La Sagesse provides a perfect blend of luxury, sustainability and family-friendly activities. Making it an ideal destination for those seeking both relaxation and adventure in a beautifully eco-conscious setting.
