Curator’s statement
We wanted to kick off our daughter’s spring break so we decided on a one night stay at The Seabird in Oceanside, California, and what a great day it was! The staff was so friendly upon arrival and throughout our entire stay and the Prive perks really helped put this experience over the top. The resort was so beautiful not just location wise but with all the cozy decor and so much for both big and little kids to enjoy! We all cannot wait to stay here again!!

Just 45 minutes north of the San Diego International Airport in Oceanside California, The Seabird is just steps away from the beach with views of the pier. When walking in you are greeted by an amazing seating area with a fireplace and comfy couches to lounge on. The decor is so beautiful throughout the resort, there is just so much to see! Upon check in, we were greeted by friendly staff who checked us in immediately. A wagon full of kids goodies was rolled out and our two kids were able to pick out a couple things while the adults were offered a complimentary glass of champagne. Our Prive perks were explained to us and we were asked if we would be taking advantage of our late check out (4 p.m.!) to which we quickly accepted. (We also were able to check in early at around 12 p.m. instead of the normal 4 p.m. which gave us over 24 hours at this beautiful resort)
As we walked into our two queen ocean view room (which was a complimentary upgrade from a partial ocean view room) we were speechless! The decor was so chic, the room spacious and THAT VIEW! We had a perfect room above the pool and a total ocean view and we could see the pier from our room as well. They had two complimentary reuse-able water bottles for us to use and take home as well as an in room coffee machine and mini fridge. (All floors had along with an ice machine an alkaline water fill station). After sitting on the balcony soaking it all in we quickly got dressed to make use of the pool! The salt water pool was heated to where it was perfect for a not so hot day, and we enjoyed a couple of adult beverages poolside thanks to The Shelter Club. The Shelter Club also had a great inside hang out area next to the pool with comfy lounge areas with games, tvs and a pool table.
We finally decided it was time to get some food so we went back to our room to get ready and decided to look around the resort. They have a great gym (if that’s your thing) an awesome library with tons of books and great areas to sit and read or get some work done. They also have an amazing spa and wellness center that I am definitely going to book an appointment with the next time we are here. We made our way down to The Shore Room which has a limited menu but a great selection of cocktails, local craft beer and wine. The Shore Room is on the ground floor on the beach side and was a great spot for people watching and watching the waves. We split a delicious hummus and veggie platter while the adult each got a signature cocktail. It was a great start before we had room service for dinner for the kids first time!
We kept our slider cracked overnight so we could hear the ocean waves and it was magical. While the kids still slept the adults were able to sip on our coffee that we were able to make in room and check out the surfers that were out from our balcony. We then went down to the Piper to use our breakfast credit that was included in our Prive perks then walked across the street down to the sand. The Seabird is right by the play ground that is on the beach which was perfect. They also have a trailer down on the sand that is accessible to people staying at The Seabird and includes chairs and umbrellas that they can set up for you on the beach (which is all included in your resort fee) and snacks and beverages for purchase. Because of our late check out option we were able to get basically an extra day of fun in and lounged by the pool (and got to check out the solar eclipse!) played some pool and hang out in our room.
