Driving up to the resort, you can see Arizona's gorgeous natural environment. While driving, see the wonderful Saguaro cacti that are native to Arizona, smell the desert sage and even catch a beautiful orange sunset.

As I approached the valet, I was warmly greeted and immediately offered water, and escorted to the lobby to meet with the guide for my visit. The lobby was decorated with local squash and pumpkins for fall, and the table set was absolutely divine. The entire lobby is surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing the Arizona sun to cast natural light across the entire room. There were many people in the foyer, which had incredibly comfortable seating arrangements.

Walking through the venue, I was reminded of the rural lands that surround Phoenix outside the city. We saw a family of quail, smelt the desert sage and walked past ancient cacti all around the outside of the casitas. The rooms held the classic Four Seasons vibe, with a southwestern flair. Each room is equipped with an electric fireplace, and sprinkled with pieces of art from the region. Each casita has an outdoor living space, to allow for the maximum enjoyment of the Southwestern valley's beauty.

As we walked past the main pool, I was greeted with a feeling of serenity and peace. The pool overlooks the Camelback Mountains. It is far enough away from the city that the only sounds present are from guests of the resort, and of the animals inhabiting the area. The Saguaro Blossom restaurant — the dining area near the pool — offers fantastic light fare and cocktails that are enjoyable throughout the entire patio area.

Proof, the contemporary dining establishment located across from the pool, is a remnant of Arizona's Route 66 highway. It has antique signs and rustic decor. This American-fare restaurant is a hit for laid-back dinners with the family, or for meetings on the patio.

The resort now offers in-casita specialty dining options, such as private picnic settings in the outdoor living spaces, grazing boards for parties or any other design for a special event. I am told that the picnic is especially popular for couples and for surprise engagements.

The entire venue is incredibly serene and peaceful. The natural beauty of Arizona is celebrated throughout the entire property. I loved the fact that the resort welcomes the natural inhabitants of the land (like the quail). Wherever you are on property, you're sure to encounter gorgeous views and peaceful feelings.

Need to know

I recommend the Four Seasons Scottsdale to couples looking for a serene getaway. I was also able to see the end of a wedding on the main patio, which boasted fantastic views as well. Whether you're privately celebrating your love together, or tying the knot in front of friends and family, the Four Seasons Scottsdale is a wonderful venue.
