Trip Report at Baha Mar in Nassau, Bahamas
Curator’s statement

This location inspired me to go visit and stay for a few days due to the easy direct flight, great hotel accommodations, beach resort and enjoying Nassau. The hotel had everything you needed right there to have a great getaway for couples, girls trip or families. The resort is a beautiful representation of Nassau and the beautiful turquoise waters as well as the local wildlife. I can’t wait to go back and explore more and would recommend to my clients.

The perfect weekend getaway in the Bahamas in full resort style, a direct flight from most major cities to Nassau. The island is full of fun surprises, but this guide I am focusing on the Baha Mar resort, cause well, did I mention they have Flamingo yoga!

The Baha Mar is made up of 3x different hotels on one property. For those that need different options. Rosewood, which is the picture of luxury. SLS is the hotel I would stay at when we go back. This one is adults-only and has an amazing rooftop bar. We had great Gin and Tonics and the music was awesome. The Grand Hyatt, where we stayed is superb. The rooms were so clean and bright, I really enjoyed it.

Something we didn’t get to do, that should have been at the top of my list, was flamingo yoga! What other place do you know that you can enjoy the beautiful weather in the Bahamas and take an adventurous yoga class with Flamingos. If you aren’t a yoga aficionada, the flamingos are living their best life on the grounds for all to take a moment to enjoy their beauty.

The property of Baha Mar is expansive and well, if you are looking for a tropical getaway that has everything, this is it. The rooms are clean and spacious; the casino is electric and the restaurants are quite yum. Outside activities you have multiple pool options, beach front and a water park to name a few. My husband and I splurged on a private cabana with another couple we traveled with and the private pool and cabana was such a fun luxury thing. We had never done that before and it was a fun treat. The spa is overwhelming in luxury; my husband had his first real Spa experience there, and he enjoyed it.

The Casino Dealers were so kind and not overwhelming for those that are new at gambling, they helped us and made us feel right at home learning a new game. And throwing away our money to win a few games! It is a great option for those that are overwhelmed by gambling in Vegas.

The best part of the whole resort experience is a speakeasy bar over in the Rosewood Hotel. It was moody and the cocktails were amazing. It was a much-needed getaway from all the tropical cocktails you consume during the day at the beach and pools!

Recommendations for Food and Drinks: (Make reservations for the restaurants!)

Library Lounge: Speakeasy cocktails

Marcus at Baha Mar: Great dinner and wine

Carna: Steakhouse with amazing ambience

Costa: Great lunch at the bar outside

Da Poke Bowl Shack: Great lunch option

Need to know

I recommend Baha Mar for girls trips, families and couples getaways, which is not normally the case for all hotels. However, this hotel has everything and even three hotel options for each of those groups. Girls trips and couples getaway recommend SLS, families at Grand Hyatt and the luxury traveler at Rosewood.
