St. Kitts and Nevis are two separate islands that make up the federation of St. Kitts and Nevis. St. Kitts is the larger and more developed of the two islands. In contrast, Nevis is smaller and is more rural and laid-back. It’s known for its natural scenery.

Both islands have beautiful accommodations. From beachfront resorts with stunning ocean views to cozy inns nestled in lush tropical landscapes, the best Nevis and St. Kitts island hotels and resorts cater to a variety of tastes. Expect high-end amenities, tailored service and friendly, Caribbean hospitality.

Plus, with JetBlue’s recent introduction of direct flights to St. Kitts and Nevis from JFK, it’s never been easier to jet off to the paradisiacal dual-island country.

Below, I’ve collected a rundown of seven of the best hotels on both islands — split between St. Kitts and Nevis.

The best St. Kitts island hotels

St. Kitts is the more developed of the two islands, so the hotels offer a little more variety than those on Nevis. A greater emphasis on entertainment and excitement go along with plenty of opportunities to unwind amidst the tropical setting.

1. St. Kitts Marriott Resort & The Royal Beach Casino

St. Kitts Marriott Resort & The Royal Beach Casino stands out for its extensive amenities and prime beachfront location. This expansive resort offers a variety of accommodations, from expansive guestrooms to luxe suites, but the real draw is its entertainment.

The Royal Beach Casino, one of the largest in the Caribbean, provides a unique and lively nightlife option. Additionally, guests can enjoy the resort’s 18-hole golf course, a lavish spa and private beach access with loungers.

Fora Perks at St. Kitts Marriott Resort & The Royal Beach Casino:

  • $100 hotel / resort credit, welcome amenity, breakfast daily, upgrade & extended check-in/out whenever possible.

2. Park Hyatt St. Kitts Christophe Harbour

Park Hyatt St. Kitts Christophe Harbour is situated along Banana Bay and offers one of the most luxurious stays on the twin islands. The rooms and suites are quite spacious, and boast a fresh and contemporary design along with floor-to-ceiling windows that frame ocean views.

The hotel emphasizes a variety of immersive experiences, including cooking classes that feature local ingredients as well as spa treatments inspired by Caribbean traditions. There is a variety of dining options, including the beachside Fisherman’s Village, which serves fresh seafood in a relaxed setting. The resort also has dual infinity pools and access to a range of water sports.

3. Koi Resort Saint Kitts, Curio Collection by Hilton

Koi Resort differs from many St. Kitts island hotels by embracing more of a contemporary theme. There are still plenty of allusions to the Caribbean setting, but they’re subtler. The best rooms boast excellent ocean views and private balconies, along with rates that are more approachable than the higher-end resorts and hotels that dot the two islands.

Notably, Koi Resort is a great choice for anyone interested in exploring the island. It’s just outside the island’s only city, Basseterre. The St. Kitts golf club is less than five minutes away by car. And the Brimstone Hill Fortress Park is about 30 minutes away. On the other hand, the property sits along the northern shores of Half Moon Bay, a gorgeous — and semi-secluded — section of the island that’s great for watersports, snorkeling and admiring the ocean scenery.

4. Belle Mont Sanctuary Resort

Belle Mont Sanctuary Resort is made up of nearly 100 cottages, cabins and villas near the center of the island’s mountainous interior. The heightened elevation offers incredible views of the Caribbean and surrounding islands, while the relatively remote location promises a quiet, private setting.

Each unit is custom designed and outfitted with handmade furnishings. The exact lineup of amenities changes by unit, but many feature infinity pools, private terraces and kitchens. (I can help you sort through the options that best suit your preferences and budget.)

One more highlight: Belle Mont’s restaurants spotlight Kittian cuisine, sourcing nearly all its ingredients from local farms and fishermen.

5. Sunset Reef St. Kitts

Sunset Reef is a tiny boutique hotel on St. Kitts island offering an intimate escape with just seven suites. Its focus on privacy and tranquility makes it perfect for couples and honeymooners.

Perched on a dramatic cliffside, the hotel grants visitors panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea (and the unmatched sunsets). Each well-designed suite comes with private balconies or terraces. Unique features include an infinity pool that, from the right vantage point, seemingly merges with the ocean. Additionally, guests can enjoy gourmet dining, water sports and easy access to nearby attractions (Central Forest Reserve, Brimstone Hill Fortress, Basseterre…).

Fora Perks at Sunset Reef St Kitts:

  • $50 hotel resort credit, breakfast daily, upgrade & extended check-in/out whenever possible.

The best hotels in Nevis, Caribbean

Nevis’ West Indies resorts focus on relaxation and tranquility, but adventurers may enjoy the island’s sparse development, rustic feel and stunning scenery.

6. Four Seasons Resort Nevis

Set along a quiet section of popular Pinney's Beach, Four Seasons Resort Nevis features chic rooms, suites and villas with gorgeous ocean or mountain views.

One of Fora's top-booked hotels on the islands, the property is excellent for families looking for fun activities and excellent kids' programs — or anyone after a world-class retreat with a tropical twist. Parents can drop their little ones off at a dedicated kids’ club before enjoying onsite pools, a full-service spa, elevated dining options or St. Kitts’ golf course.

It’s also a great option for couples. Many return year after year, drawn by the romantic atmosphere, fine dining options like Mango restaurant, and amenities like the spa for a relaxing couples retreat.

Per the Four Seasons usual pedigree, expect impeccable service and attention to detail throughout your stay.

Golden Rock Inn is an enchanting escape in the tropical forest that surrounds Nevis Peak. The property, originally a historic sugar plantation, is made up of individually designed cottages that blend boutique charm with historical significance. Between each unit, manicured gardens and ponds dot the resort grounds, cultivating a tranquil vibe.

At this Nevis Caribbean resort, guests can enjoy a quiet, nature-focused ambiance, stunning views and a renowned restaurant serving farm-to-table cuisine.

Fora Perks at Golden Rock Inn Nevis:

  • Welcome amenities, complimentary garden tour, upgrade whenever possible.

8. Paradise Beach Nevis

One of the best Nevis West Indies resorts for group travelers, Paradise Beach features two-, three- and four-bedroom villas. You can choose between beachfront or interior units, the latter of which are still only a short walk to the shoreline. Each villa is designed with a blend of Caribbean and Balinese influences (like thatch roofs), and features spacious layouts and private pools.

What makes this property unique is its focus on personalized service, with dedicated villa hosts available to cater to your every need. Additionally, you can enjoy activities such as snorkeling, paddleboarding and private chef services without having to leave the resort grounds.

Fora Perks at Paradise Beach Nevis:

  • Complimentary airport transfer, breakfast daily, upgrade & extended check-in/out whenever possible.
