4 of the best places to visit in Arizona

Read on for a quick breakdown of four of our favorite places to visit in Arizona.

    1. Grand Canyon National Park: one of the USA’s most prized natural landmarks

One of America’s most beloved sights, the Grand Canyon is — to put it plainly — majestic. But as much as the Grand Canyon is a must-see Arizona pit stop, there’s also a lot you can do here, too (just see our adventure guide to the Grand Canyon). Hiking is an obvious answer, but there’s also whitewater rafting, stargazing, mule trips and plenty more.

It’s also worth mentioning that the western rim of the Grand Canyon is one of the coolest places to visit near Las Vegas by car.

    2. Phoenix & Scottsdale: trendy, relaxing & culturally rich

Phoenix and nearby Scottsdale — both among the best places to visit in Arizona — make for an excellent pair if you’re looking for a mix of relaxation and urban adventure. The former is arguably Arizona’s top culture hub — filled with cool museums, great dining and entertainment — while the latter hosts a bevy of lavish spa and golf resorts, as well as a charming downtown area with cool pubs, galleries and so on (all of which are great for a Scottsdale bachelorette party itinerary).

(Check out the best hotels in Phoenix, like the Arizona Biltmore, and the most luxurious hotels in Scottsdale, AZ, like the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess.)

Fora Perks at Arizona Biltmore, A Waldorf Astoria Resort:

    • $100 hotel / resort credit.

    • Breakfast daily.

    • Upgrade & extended check-in/out whenever possible.

    3. Monument Valley, Navajo Nation: one of the most unique places to visit in Arizona

Monument Valley, found near Arizona’s border with Utah within the Navajo Nation Reservation, is a gorgeous stretch of land boasting a plethora of unusual geographical features. Long, flat plains of green and tan are suddenly interrupted by red-rock formations — buttes — with distant mountain ranges ever present. The sight is serene, and, while not quite as famous as the Grand Canyon, just as beautiful.

Sidenote: if you don’t mind a road trip, Monument Valley is about 2.5 hours from one of the most unique places to stay in Utah, Amangiri, arguably one of the most luxurious resorts in the United States.

    Fora Perks at Amangiri:

    • $100 hotel / resort credit.

    • Breakfast daily.

    • Upgrade & extended check-in/out whenever possible.

    4. Sedona: an artistic hub surrounded by natural beauty

If Phoenix is Arizona’s culture capital, Sedona isn’t far behind. Sedona’s artistic and spiritual heritage has made it one of the coolest places to visit in Arizona. But the town’s surroundings are equally intriguing. Red rock-formations dotted with lush vegetation create a stunning contrast beneath an often-clear blue sky. The area is gorgeous, and often regarded as one of the prettiest destinations in the state.

Phoenix and Scottsdale (sometimes grouped together as "The Valley") don’t have a monopoly on great Arizona resorts, either. Sedona is home to many of the best family resorts in Arizona — as well as a few adult-oriented options like Enchantment Resort to the town’s northwest. This ritzy locale makes great use of its (relatively) remote setting while pampering guests with luxurious accommodations and high-end amenities.

    Fora Perks at Enchantment Resort:

    • $100 hotel / resort credit.

    • Breakfast daily.

    • Upgrade & extended check-in/out whenever possible.
