Casa Angelina updates: an expanded season, a Michelin Star & new hotel additions

Casa Angelina is one of my favorite boutique gems on the Amalfi Coast. It’s away from the crowds and feels like your own oasis, perched on an idyllic cliff in the authentic village of Praiano. This year, they’ve announced their longest season yet, extending from March 28 through November 4. Plus, the hotel’s gourmet restaurant, Un Piano Nel Cielo, recently received a coveted Michelin Star. If that weren’t reason enough to pack your bags, the brand-new Suite Vermarine will be open for business March 28. It’s a sprawling retreat designed by the ultra-talented Paola Lenti, who drew inspiration from Casa Angelina’s lush natural surroundings — expect soothing gem tones, the most prominent being a pale green inspired by prasiolite, or green quartz.

Fora Perks:

  • $100 hotel / resort credit, welcome amenities, breakfast daily, an upgrade & extended check-in/out whenever possible.

Every Belmond hotel is a tasteful celebration of the unique locale in which it’s located, and Montasterio, housed in a handsome 16th-century monastery centered on a centuries-old Andean cedar tree, is no exception. Savor authentic Peruvian cuisine celebrating Peru’s bounty, take in the hotel’s impressive collection of historic artwork and partake in one-of-a-kind, immersive experiences that meaningfully unveil Cusco’s magic.

The early bird gets the worm, and such is the case for Rosewood’s luxury Cabo San Lucas resort. Gourmet culinary options abound: choose from authentic Mexican fare, fresh seafood, Mexican-Japanese fusion and Indian-inspired coastal cuisine. The spa, of course, is not to be missed, nor is Las Ventanas’ vast array of signature experiences, from whale watching to kayaking, yacht charters to horseback riding.

Dubai just got a major upgrade: One&Only One Za’abeel, whose grand opening was christened by Jennifer Lopez, Mark Ronson, Idris Elba and other megastars, is an ultra-modern, exceptionally sophisticated urban resort. Inside, you’ll find gourmet restaurants helmed by a masterfully curated assortment of Michelin-Starred chefs, as well as a three-story health and wellbeing club brought to you by Clinique La Prairie. Speaking of wellness, SIRO One Za’abeel, located right next the One&Only One Za’abeel, is Dubai’s first fitness-focused hotel. Here, you can take advantage of expert one-on-one training on the hotel’s Fitness Lab, an entire floor dedicated to physical optimization. The hotel is also very focused on recovery, offering a menu of holistic treatments that draw from both ancient traditions and modern science. And of course, the food here is at once gourmet, delicious and nourishing, having been designed in collaboration with world-class nutritionists. (You can also have a meal plan designed specifically for you and your goals.)

Fora Perks:

  • When you book One&Only with me, you'll enjoy exclusive One&Only preferred partner amenities. I'll be pleased to give you more details.

Reopening alert: Menorca Experimental Hotel

The intimate, gorgeous Menorca Experimental Hotel, located within a 19th-century finca on a sprawling paradisiacal stretch of land, is slated to reopen March 27. Here is where one can truly escape, where travelers can enjoy nourishing, locally sourced cuisine, practice yoga and meditation, relax in the hammam and sauna, receive tailored spa treatments, connect with local producers, enlist a personal trainer and so much more. It’s a veritable retreat for the body, mind and spirit.

New opening alert: Six Senses La Sagesse

In May, Six Senses will open its first Caribbean resort, Six Senses La Sagesse, in Grenada. The breezy, chic rooms and villas were built using sustainable and repurposed materials, and the resort has optimized its energy use and waste management systems for sustainability. The carefully sourced, homemade food champions Caribbean and South American flavors. (And don’t miss the complimentary shaved ice or fresh ice cream at the delightful Scoop Café.) But if you must do one thing, head to the spa. The two-story marvel is equipped with one of the best hotel gyms I’ve seen, plus a dreamy yoga pavilion, a hammam, a panoramic sauna and hot and cold plunge pools.
