Hyatt Privé benefits, like a confirmed upgrade and late check-out, are the icing on the cake of any stay at a participating Hyatt property around the world. This guide breaks down exactly how to unlock Hyatt Privé benefits, which hotels participate and how Privé benefits compare to other Hyatt perks, like those earned through Hyatt Globalist status.

How to obtain Hyatt Privé benefits

There’s only one way to earn Hyatt Privé benefits: You have to book your stay at a participating property with a travel advisor partnered with Hyatt. Typically, you’ll pay the same rate you normally would (the hotel pays the advisor), except you’ll also enjoy complimentary benefits like potential room upgrades, early check-in, welcome amenities and more. Fora is a Hyatt Privé agency, and all our travel advisors are therefore able to unlock Privé benefits for you.

A breakdown of Hyatt Privé benefits

Most properties participating in the Hyatt Privé program offer the same benefits, with slight variations. Here’s what they look like.

    Hyatt Privé confirmed upgrade

Hyatt Privé’s confirmed upgrade offers a one-category upgrade based on anticipated occupancy. If you choose a basic room with a queen bed and a standard view, for example, the one-category upgrade may bump you up to a room with a king bed and a nicer view. You can also sometimes get upgraded from one suite to another, but don’t expect to be upgraded from a normal guest room to a suite.

Hyatt’s approach to room upgrades is different from how it normally works in the industry. At most hotels, you typically won’t know if your room choice has been upgraded until you arrive at the hotel; the decision is based on the hotel’s actual occupancy. Hyatt, however, bases this decision off how many rooms and suites they expect to have available when you arrive. If you’re visiting a destination during its peak travel season, you probably won’t be upgraded. But if you’re visiting during the low or shoulder seasons, your chances are much higher — and you’ll know within 24 hours of making your booking.

Any time you book a Hyatt Privé hotel or resort, you’ll receive a property credit valued between $25–$100, or the equivalent amount in the local currency. This credit can be put toward meals, drinks, spa treatments and other experiences offered on site. For example, at Park Hyatt Kyoto, you’ll receive $100 in Japanese Yen, which you can use at the hotel’s decadent Kyoto Bistro.

    Daily breakfast

All Hyatt Privé reservations include complimentary breakfast for up to two guests per day. Hyatt has high standards for their eateries; you’ll be starting off your day with an excellent breakfast. Even if you’re visiting a low-key destination, having breakfast taken care of each day can free up your budget for other activities or meals.

    Welcome amenity

Welcome amenities can include things like a complimentary bottle of Champagne, a welcome basket of local goodies, seasonal fruit, skincare products… it varies by property, and is often specific to the location.

    Extended check-in/out

Hyatt Privé benefits include priority for early check-in and late check-out, usually by a few hours if approved. This perk is dependent on hotel availability, and may also include extended windows for using hotel amenities, like the pool, gym and so on.

    Priority for connecting rooms

If you’re traveling with a group or family, connecting rooms matter. Hyatt Privé reservations have priority anytime connecting rooms are on option (not all properties offer this). It’s worth noting that if you’re staying during peak travel season, there may be limited or no availability for connecting rooms.

    WiFi and other amenities

Most Hyatt Privé properties will include additional benefits like complimentary high-speed WiFi for the duration of your stay. Other examples include priority for on-site restaurant waitlists or complimentary access to or discounts on a resort experience.

Most Hyatt Privé properties will run special offers at various points throughout the year. These additional benefits are always property-specific, and may only apply to certain room categories. For instance, Park Hyatt St. Kitts Christophe Harbour ran a special promotion for select villas and suites for holiday reservations made by a specific date. Guests staying in those room types were, on top of standard Hyatt Privé benefits, entitled to a $700 property credit, roundtrip airport transfer for up to five guests, butler service, a holiday family portrait and either a one-hour TopGolf session or one-hour pickleball session. Fora Advisors are privy to all such VIP offers, which are usually only available when you book your stay with a travel advisor.

Hyatt brands that offer Hyatt Privé benefits

Most properties under the Hyatt umbrella offer Hyatt Privé benefits. This includes all Park Hyatt, Andaz and Miraval properties, as well as select properties belonging to the following brands: Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Centric, Hyatt Regency, The Unbound Collection, Thompson, Alila and Joie de Vivre.

Hyatt Privé benefits vs. World of Hyatt Globalist benefits

Hyatt Privé benefits are similar to those of the highest tier of World of Hyatt, the brand’s loyalty program. Across all properties, Privé tends to offer slightly better benefits, but the benefits vary by property. If you’re using points to secure complimentary nights, however, there’s no equivalent perk through Privé. You also can’t make a Privé reservation with World of Hyatt points. But you can still earn World of Hyatt points through Hyatt Privé reservations. A Fora Advisor will help maximize your points while unlocking Privé perks where relevant.
