The 3 coolest hotels in Indianapolis

Virtually all of Indianapolis’ best hotels can be found within a few blocks of Mile Square (a.k.a. Downtown Indianapolis). Admittedly, the selection isn’t quite as extensive as, say, the best hotels in Chicago or the coolest hotels in Vegas, but you’ll still find awesome accommodations here that are sure to enhance your trip.

Pro tip: if you’re planning on visiting the city during the Indy 500 or an Indianapolis Colts game, we recommend booking your trip well in advance to secure the best rate and room.

    1. Conrad Indianapolis: an opulent five-star hotel in Indianapolis' Mile Square

Elegant and lavishly furnished, Conrad is easily one of the most luxurious hotels in Indianapolis. The hotel hosts a plethora of high-end amenities, including one of the city's best in-hotel spas, an art gallery featuring the work of local artists and spacious rooms and suites. There's even a super cool suite that features a rotating lineup of renowned works, like Warhol, Dali and Picasso paintings.

The location of the Conrad is exceptional, too. The hotel neighbors the Indiana War Memorial in Mile Square, offering convenient access to nearly all of the city’s best attractions, including the Indianapolis City Market

    2. Omni Severin Hotel: a laid-back Indianapolis hotel with great views of the city

Omni Severin features a Beaux-Arts architecture style, comfy furnishings and great access to Lucas Oil Stadium and other downtown attractions.

Over 100 years old, the hotel feels right at home in historic Indianapolis. “This place oozes history with original ironwork and marble everywhere. I found a warm, wonderful bar, beautiful community spaces, and some incredible suites that are both elegant and comfortable,” says Pro Fora Advisor Bijoy Shah

While Omni Severin isn’t quite as upscale as Conrad, Bijoy notes that the service was awesome and closer to what you would expect from a higher-end hotel. To that end, if you’re looking for an excellent hotel in Indianapolis with a great location that doesn’t necessarily break the bank, Omni Severin is a fantastic choice.

    3. Le Méridien Indianapolis: a snazzy boutique-style hotel connected to the Indiana Convention Center

Crisp, contemporary decor and lush furnishings make this boutique-style hotel one of the most stylish places to stay in Indianapolis. Housed within a structure dating back to the mid-1800s, Le Méridien celebrates its historical origins yet offers a wholly modern experience. Guests can expect nothing short of excellent service, plush comforts and like all the best hotels in Indianapolis, unimpeded access to the city’s coolest highlights.

There's also a great cocktail bar, Spoke & Steele, with an elegant vibe that's perfect for unwinding after checking out the city.
