Four Seasons’ Boston hotels celebrate the city’s rich historical heritage in sophisticated style. Both found in opposite corners of Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood, the sister hotels offer refined accommodations, world-class amenities and impeccable service. And whether you're visiting for business or leisure, the two properties provide distinct experiences that reflect the unique charm and character of Boston.

“Four Seasons One Dalton Street, a 61-story newly constructed tower in Boston’s Back Bay, is a striking addition to the historic city’s skyline,” Fora Advisor Hannah Corderman said. “Views from the luxurious guest rooms, with floor-to-ceiling windows, offer an exclusive perspective of Boston that is unparalleled.”

Fora Advisor Noelle Rudloff said that Four Seasons Hotel Boston is “perfect for visiting families.” Each floor has a "Vault" stocked with snacks, candy and drinks. “Be sure to let the front desk know you are traveling with children, and they will be treated to a special, kids-only toy closet that you open with a giant gold key hidden behind the front desk,” she added.

Both hotels are among Fora’s top-booked properties in Boston. This guide breaks down both Four Seasons Boston hotels with expert takes from Fora Advisors who’ve stayed at these properties themselves and have booked them for clients.

Both Four Seasons Boston locations are five-star, luxury hotels — and both rank among the best places to stay in Boston. One Dalton Street brings lavish accommodations and offerings to the city’s Back Bay.

“It’s slightly removed from the hustle and bustle,” Fora Advisor Taylor Gordon said, and is “the perfect spot for those looking for their home away from home, with modern interiors, excellent service and top-notch amenities!”

Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street inhabits one of Boston’s newest skyscrapers in a quieter, more upscale part of Back Bay. If you want to be close to most of the city’s top attractions — including an array of designer shops and fine dining choices — but enjoy privacy and exclusivity, this is a great choice.

“What really sets Four Seasons One Dalton Street apart is the way in which the five-star hotel blends luxury with a genuine sense of place, introducing a curated art collection that showcases local talent,” Fora Advisor  Hannah Corderman said. “One Dalton Street is more than just a place to stay: It’s a destination in itself, and one that has shot to the top of my list of must-visit hotels for any luxury travel enthusiasts.”

One Dalton Street offers an array of room and suite options, all of which feature chic décor and comfortable furnishings. Entry-level rooms range between roughly 400 and 500 square feet, and comfortably sleep up two adults (and one child). Larger units start at 640 square feet and can easily accommodate an extra adult or two children. Top-tier units boast spacious layouts with common areas, lavish bathrooms with soaking tubs and separate showers as well as the option to connect to adjoining units.

Fora Advisor Dahlia Swerdloff swooned over the rooms’ floor-to-ceiling windows and Charles River views.

There are also several accessible travel options with specialized amenities like visual and audible alert systems, lowered peepholes and wheelchair-accessible doors.

If you can’t decide which room type best suits your needs, a Fora Advisor can help. Reach out; they can explain all the different options and matchmake you to the best choice.

    Dining

Four Seasons’ Boston hotels offer a lineup of high-end restaurants. Three such venues exist at One Dalton Street: Zuma, One + One and Trifecta. Zuma presents a lively and elevated take on Japanese izakaya cuisine, which roughly translates to “bar” or “tavern.” One + One is a chic breakfast and brunch option. And Trifecta is a cocktail lounge that also serves afternoon tea and late-night bites.

“Weekend afternoon tea at Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street, Boston is a must while staying there,” Fora Advisor Carlie Lee said. “The experience includes an array of sweet and savory bites, a glass of Champagne and local tea. You have the option to elevate your tea by pairing it with a liqueur or spirit recommended by the hotel's mixologist.”

Per all Four Seasons locations, One Dalton Street also offers in-room dining.

As Fora Advisor Hannah Corderman mentioned earlier, One Dalton Street is a “destination in itself.” An array of services and amenities ensure guests are never bored.

“Whether you’re lounging by the indoor pool with spectacular curved windows, indulging in a signature spa treatment or simply soaking in the cityscape from your room, Four Seasons One Dalton manages to make you feel both pampered and right at home,” Hannah said.

An entire floor is dedicated to wellness, with a wide variety of available spa treatments using high-end botanicals. There’s also a state-of-the-art fitness center and a Kids Concierge program dedicated to helping families plan their stay (which a  Fora Advisor can also help with). Finally, there’s an indoor pool with VIP-level views of the city.

Sidenote: Four Seasons’ Boston hotels facilitate the same tours and experiences; we cover all the offerings below.

Option 2: Four Seasons Hotel Boston

Prior to One Dalton Street’s opening, Four Seasons Hotel Boston was one of the most awarded hotels in Boston. Four Seasons Hotel Boston, located in historic Boston Commons, was recently renovated to keep it in line with its ultra-luxe twin, and still offers an array of high-end amenities, rooms and dining options.

“The color palette is full of rich greens, emulating the Public Gardens that it sits across from. The furniture is a mix of muted yellows and pinks, different textures and a black-and-white tile floor,” Fora Advisor Dahlia Swerdloff said of the hotel, adding how it “  is so inviting, you will want to pause on one of the sofas or step into Coterie, the hotel's new bar.”

Notably, whereas One Dalton Street is set in a quieter part of Back Bay, this location is right in the thick of the action.

“To really experience Boston, you must stay at Four Seasons Hotel Boston, which is directly across from the Public Park, the equivalent of New York's Central Park,” Fora Advisor Sarit Rothschild noted. “Walk around the duck pond while snacking on the plethora of complimentary snacks the Four Seasons Boston offers on each floor.”

Sarit recommended rounding out our day with a nearby boat ride, museum tour and dinner in Boston’s Little Italy.

    Accommodations

Four Seasons’ Boston Commons location was recently renovated to match One Dalton Street’s aesthetic. The entry-room options are largely similar, but there’s a  greater variety of top-tier suites. These suites also display a classy, Old World theme, whereas One Dalton Street favors more of a contemporary luxury design. Aa Fora Advisor will be happy to book a room that matches your style and budget.

    Dining

Four Seasons Hotel Boston hosts two restaurants, an al fresco option and a stylish espresso bar, Sottovento: Aujord’Hui exclusively serves breakfast with Boston Commons as a bustling backdrop. Coterie blends French fine dining with New England staples for lunch and dinner. The Sanctuary serves cocktails and light bites in an intimate, outdoor setting. Then there’s also in-room and poolside dining available.

    Amenities & services

Amenities at Four Seasons Hotel Boston cater to all travelers. An indoor pool offers views of Boston Commons. There’s a 24-hour fitness center, plus a runner’s club hosted by the hotel’s resident chef (check out our runner’s travel guide to the Boston Marathon). One of the hotel’s best-known features is The Vault, a complimentary snack pantry located on every guest floor — a favorite for kids. (As previously mentioned, the Vault is also available at the One Dalton location.) Young guests are also welcomed by hotel staff to enjoy a complimentary treat at check-in.

Nearby family-friendly activities include the Boston Swan Boats, the Boston Tea Party Museum and the “darling carousel” on the Rose Kennedy Greenway, Fora Advisor Noelle Rudloff said. “Ask pool/spa staff for their special inflatable swan pool floats — they are stored out of sight.”

Four Seasons’ Boston hotels’ off-site excursions are largely the same. These include tours of Boston’s Freedom Trail, a tour through the city’s historic highlights, a museum tour and picnics in the park, among many others, all facilitated by Four Seasons.

On a professional note, both hotels feature plenty of event space for corporate events. (One Dalton Street probably edges out the Boston Commons location with more options, but consider this case-by-case, as the offerings are different. A Fora Advisor can offer more detail.)

What’s there to do in Boston?

Boston is one of the United States’ oldest and most culturally rich cities. It’s also an exciting metropolis celebrating the most interesting aspects of contemporary, urban New England.

“Boston has all the benefits you'd expect from a big city, without being too overwhelming!” Fora Advisor Taylor Gordan said. “It's easy to navigate, full of history and has an amazing food scene, from New England staples like lobster rolls to world-renowned restaurants.” Taylor added, “It’s the perfect place to visit for a long weekend: There are so many cute neighborhoods to explore like the North End, Beacon Hill or the Seaport, and lots of wonderful museums, as well.”

Taylor recommends visiting during summer or fall, since the city gets cold and windy in winter.

    Is Boston easy to navigate?

Absolutely, but especially in areas like Back Bay, where both Four Seasons Boston hotels are located.

In particular, Fora Advisor Dahlia Swerdloff noted, “If you are coming to Boston for an event or game at Fenway, One Dalton Street is not only walkable, but the new chic place to stay.”

When are Four Seasons Hotel Boston & One Dalton Street check-in/out times?

The standard check-in time is 3 pm, and check-out is usually at noon at both Four Seasons Hotel Boston and Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street, Boston.

How far in advance should you book these hotels?

For peak travel season — fall, especially — we recommend booking any Boston hotel at least three to six months out. Otherwise, a month or two out is normally sufficient, but to ensure you get your desired room choice, sooner is better.

How much does it cost to stay at Four Seasons’ Boston hotels?

Rates at Four Seasons’ Boston hotels fluctuate throughout the season. Fora’s average nightly rate for Four Seasons Hotel Boston and Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street are $1,282 and $938, respectively.
