At the start of the new year, wellness is top of mind. But my definition of wellness goes beyond the societally imposed expectations for physical and emotional transformation. Wellness, to me, is about doing what feels good to you — whether that means getting after it at the gym, sipping a glass of red in a bubble bath or spending the weekend somewhere primed for relaxation.

I'm especially keen on the latter activity. When it comes to wellness escapes, there's something for everyone, proving that you can have your cake and eat it, too. Below, I highlight five spa getaways that make for the perfect start to 2024. What better way to kick off the new year than with a vacation? And in case nobody's told you, yes, you absolutely deserve it.

Whether you're just dipping your toe into the wellness world or are a veritable wellness enthusiast, the range of offerings appeals to virtually everyone.

Choose from seven- or nine-day programs, all designed with fitness in mind. Days include morning stretching, intense mountain hikes, strength training, naptime, massages and nourishing cuisine. It's tiring, challenging and seriously rejuvenating.
