Curator’s statement

Amalfi Coast is an option that many people have on their travel bucket lists. While I recommend visiting well-known Italian cities such as Rome, Florence and Venice, the Amalfi Coast offers its own special charm.

Experience the winding roads while admiring the seaside cliffs from Sorrento to Positano. Cruise along the stunning coastline at sunset. Embark on a breathtaking hike and indulge in delectable lemon desserts. Discover the top activities on the Amalfi Coast for more enchanting experiences!

Things to do on The Amalfi Coast

Favorite cities to visit:

Amalfi, Sorrento, Salerno, Positano, Ravello, Praiano and Maiori are among the top destinations on the Amalfi Coast. Additionally, you can conveniently visit the island of Capri.

The Best Positano Beach Clubs: although the Italian coastline boasts numerous stunning beaches, none can compare to the enchanting beauty and allure of those found in Positano. Each of the premier beach clubs in Positano possesses a unique charm, providing the ideal backdrop for you to enjoy your own picturesque Italian summer. Here are two of my favorites..

La Scogliera in Positano: a small haven on the Amalfi Coast. Located amid the rocks of the Amalfi Coast, La Scogliera in Positano is a beach resort offering a unique setting overlooking the Li Galli Islands. This unspoilt paradise is a fusion of nature, relaxation, comfort and top-notch catering services during the day, providing a 360-degree quality experience.

As the sun sets, La Scogliera transforms into a charming, romantic lounge bar, ideal for a tranquil evening. For those seeking more, guests can unwind on sunbeds under the moonlight, savoring the nighttime seascape of Positano while indulging in a variety of spirits and cocktails.

L’Incanto Beach Club: if you are seeking luxury and convenience as a beach-goer, the Spiaggia Grande on the Amalfi Coast is the perfect destination. Among the many beach clubs on this beach, L’Incanto stands out as one of the most favored choices.

Amalfi Coast: Boat and Snorkeling Tour with a Captain

Pompeii: about a 1-hour drive from the town of Positano, so it’s an easy day trip from the Amalfi Coast. I would highly recommend exploring Pompeii and Herculaneum with a guide. Opting for a local expert will enhance the experience significantly. When going alone, you may overlook unmarked spots and not fully maximize the experience.

Even though Pompeii often receives more focus due to its larger size, Herculaneum is an excellent destination for art history enthusiasts because it has a higher number of preserved mosaics.

Day trips

MBS Blu Charter Boat Tours: Take the Capri Blue Grotto Small Group Boat Day Tour From Sorrento.

Although the Blue Grotto is a popular attraction on Capri, the lengthy queue at the cave entrance often leads many boat tours to bypass this stop. This tour offers the advantage of departing early in the morning to avoid the crowds and reduce waiting times. Following the visit to the grotto, you can embark on a boat tour around the island, with opportunities to swim and explore on land during your free time.

Restaurants in Amalfi with spectacular views

Baglio Amalfi Italian Bistro Cucina Vino: overlooking Conca dei Marini, it offers a unique dining experience on its terrace. The restaurant celebrates Mediterranean cuisine, combining the sea's aroma with lemon groves' fragrance, while preserving local traditions with innovation.

La Tagliata in Positano offers amazing, fresh seafood, stunning views and a laid-back ambiance. The restaurant boasts three terraces, each overlooking the sea, ensuring that every guest can savor the breathtaking scenery.

Da Kasai in Praiano, renowned for its unique dishes, offers a culinary adventure set against stunning views in a cozy and inviting atmosphere.

Trattoria da Armandino, has a unique location in Praiano, situated in a fjord at sea level, with views overlooking Marina di Praia. The delicious fresh fish dishes served here will definitely make you crave for more. The restaurant provides great value for money, offering meals in a family-style setting.

Maria Grazia on the beachfront in Nerano, is a hidden gem known for its quality, reasonable prices and casual atmosphere. They are credited with inventing the famous zucchini pasta and offer fresh seafood with peach-infused white wine. A must-visit for a delicious lunch and beach relaxation.

Da Adolfo in Positano is accessible only by boat from the nearby Positano beach. This low-key, informal sea-front establishment serves up the freshest seafood for lunch. Best to take a towel to relax in the sun in your post-lunch food coma.

Some others include Il Ritrovo in Montepertuso, Hotel Belair Sorrento rooftop bar and Il San Pietro di Positano!
