Things to do in Charleston, South Carolina
Outdoor Activities:
King Street: Take a stroll down the famous historic King Street where you will find shopping and restaurants. This street also boasts beautiful architecture.
Charleston City Market: Enjoy food, local goods, and crafts at the City Market. Located in the heart of downtown, here you can explore different vendors and be sure to grab your souvenir!
Horse-Drawn Carriage City Tours: Get to see the city while traveling in style - horse and buggy style. These tours are a unique way to learn about the historic landmarks and how Charleston came to be.
Magnolia Plantation and Gardens: Go back in history at this plantation which was founded in 1676. Along with the plantation itself, you will be able to immerse yourself in an array of gardens and beautiful landscape. Quick tip - if you are going in the summer months, try and sneak this activity in during the early hours of the day. It can get quite hot!
Kayaking in the Harbor: Charleston has different kayak and water sports companies to choose from. However, kayaking in the harbor is a must-do! Close to restaurants and bars, you can easily grab lunch or dinner after an afternoon on the water.
Indoor Activities:
South Carolina Aquarium: A family-friendly activity perfect for rainy days. The city Aquarium is a fun way to be up close to sea creatures of all kinds!
The Charleston Museum: This museum was founded in 1773, making it the first museum in America. Learn about the stories and great figures from this city.
Boone Hall Plantation and Gardens: Being one of the oldest working plantations in America, they also host tours of the mansion which was built in 1936 and still standing. Learn about the history of the home, and how it is still standing today.
Day Trips:
Daniel Island: If you would like to visit this neighboring Island, take a ferry ride from downtown Charleston to Daniel Island. While on the Island, explore the beautiful walking trails, restaurants, and shops!
Sullivan's Island is a short drive from downtown. Enjoy a day at the beach here, as well as gazing at the many beautiful beach homes!

Dining and Coffee:
Le Farfalle: A romantic Italian restaurant with a beautiful outdoor ambience. Located right off of King Street, this is a perfect place to walk to after a long door exploring the city.
Church and Union Charleston: What once was a church has now transformed into an elegant dining experience. Enjoy an array of food options while among the church architecture.
Hyman's Seafood: Located on Meeting Street downtown, Hyman's is the place to go to get your seafood fix! Boasting many menu items, you will be satisfied finding something you love.
Second State Coffee and Bitty & Beau's Coffee are both delicious coffee shops downtown for your morning latte or afternoon pick me up!
Drinks and Desserts:
Carmella's Cafe and Dessert Bar: Visit Carmella's in the heart of downtown for cocktails and homemade desserts. This is a must-do!
Citrus Club: A Rooftop Bar connected to The Dewberry Hotel. This rooftop has stunning views overlooking the city.
Élevé Rooftop Restaurant and Lounge: Stop here for an elegant and sophisticated evening cocktail. This is located at the Grand Bohemian Hotel Charleston.
The Rooftop at the Vendue: This is the #1 Rooftop Bar in Charleston, located in the French Quarter of the city.
