Day 1: Explore, eat & learn

Beautiful Sky

Start your day off with a cup of coffee and a pastry at the Explorado Market. This charming bakery offers a variety of delicious gluten-free baked goods, as well as a selection of coffee and teas.

After breakfast, head to Horsetooth Reservoir for some outdoor fun. You can rent a paddleboard, kayak, or canoe and explore the beautiful lake and surrounding scenery. If you prefer to stay on land, there are also hiking and biking trails available.

For lunch, stop by the Silver Grill Cafe, a local institution that has been serving up delicious breakfast and lunch dishes since 1933. Try their famous cinnamon rolls or one of their hearty sandwiches or salads. Add a side of Colorado green chili for a little extra spice!

In the afternoon, check out the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery. This interactive museum offers exhibits on science, history, and culture, as well as a state-of-the-art digital dome theater.

If you’d rather just explore downtown, check out any one of the more than 20 breweries in Fort Collins. We tried Salt Road Brewing, which had many beers on draft! Walk to The Exchange where you can enjoy a beer or cocktail and play a round of miniature golf at Old Town Putt. Have a glass of wine at Blanchard Family Wines.

Stay in Old Town Fort Collins for dinner at one of the many restaurants in the area. The Welsh Rabbit Cheese Bistro is a great option for cheese lovers, or The Emporium offers American and French cuisine in an informal setting. Grab a bottle of wine at the attached market to enjoy with your meal.

Before the sun sets, head to The Sunset Lounge at the top of the Elizabeth Hotel for some spectacular views. Take a stroll through Old Town and check out the shops, galleries and live music venues.

These are just a few of the many things to see and do in Fort Collins. Colorado. With its beautiful scenery and lively downtown, it's definitely worth a visit!
