Areas to stay in Mexico City
CDMX is vast, but the best areas for visitors are:
Polanco – The upscale district with luxury hotels, high-end shopping and world-class restaurants. Ideal for business travelers and those who love refined experiences.
Condesa – A bohemian, green and walkable neighborhood filled with chic cafes, boutique hotels and lush parks. Perfect for art lovers and creatives.
Roma Norte – A hipster hub with street art, trendy restaurants, vintage stores and a buzzing nightlife. A bit edgier than Condesa but full of character.

Arca Tierra in Xochimilco – Xochimilco is always associated with boat parties, but there is also this farm-to-table experience where you can learn about sustainable agriculture and enjoy fresh, organic meals.

Need to know
Mexico City is a dynamic and bustling metropolis, so planning ahead is key. Popular restaurants and bars tend to fill up quickly, so I highly recommend making reservations in advance. While the city is generally safe, it’s always good to stay aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded areas. If you're traveling with a large group, hiring a driver can make logistics much easier.
That being said, one of the best ways to experience CDMX is simply by walking around — exploring different neighborhoods, stumbling upon hidden cafés and discovering unique boutiques. The spontaneity of finding new places is what makes this city truly magical!
