Advisor - Family Fun in Punta Mita
Curator’s statement

Punta Mita is a beautiful peninsula with diverse wildlife and some of the best beaches in Mexico. With something for everyone, I've traveled to Punta Mita on a girls' trip, couples' trip and multigenerational family trip. It's an easy 2.5-hour flight from DFW or three hours from LAX. You'll fly into Puerto Vallarta and it's a 50-minute drive from the airport.

Two of my favorite hotels are here, St. Regis and Four Seasons. Plus, there are many beautiful villas and condos to rent. Just make sure you're renting 'inside the gates' so you can take a golf cart into town for dinner and shopping.

Things to do in Punta Mita

Punta Mita has several fun beach clubs, and if you're staying in a condo or villa, you'll want to make sure you have 'premier membership' which includes access to these beach clubs. Part of the fun is trying out a new beach club (and lunch/drinks menu!) each day. My favorite is Kupuri! The famous "Tail of the Whale" golf hole is here on the Pacifico course, where golfers can hit onto an island green in low-tide. Or charter a boat for fishing or whale watching (in winter).

The adventurous ones in your group will work up a sweat hiking Monkey Mountain. Look out for the coatis. They have been known to swipe backpacks containing food! Another favorite in Punta Mita is shopping. My nieces love Mita Mita, and our whole group went crazy for the linen at Velia Sierra.

Accommodations:

Punta Mita has two of my favorite resorts on the planet. Choosing between the Four Seasons (I love the lazy river), and the St. Regis (I love the sunset champagne sabering!) would be like choosing my favorite child. However, the private villas really bring the wow factor here. There is nothing like having your own personal chef and bartender, and ultimate privacy for your group. Message me for access to a villa on the best private beach in Punta Mita.

Places to eat & drink in Punta Mita

Mina has the best fresh seafood in town. It's a casual dinner spot (take your golf cart!) where you'll dine with your toes in the sand, steps from the ocean. I also love Mita Mary Boat at the St. Regis for its gorgeous sunsets and to-die-for seafood platter. Sufi at the Sufi Ocean Club is a gorgeous setting. I love the Palomas here.

Bahia at the Four Seasons is delicious. Be sure to go early for a cocktail at their open-air bar before dinner. If you're there during the holidays, they always have the most magical Christmas tree display.
