Curator’s statement
First things first - “resort” is a bit of a misnomer when talking about Albany, the gated luxury outpost nestled on the southwestern end of The Bahamas’ New Providence island. At its core, it is a private members club part of the exclusive Nexus Luxury collection. It has, bar-none, the best amenities in The Bahamas. Access is restrictive and privacy is paramount, but we can help you score a stay in one of Albany’s design-forward marina condos or villas, granting you access to all Albany has to offer.

Day 1: Arrive in Nassau
Be met at Nassau airport by a car service, which whisks you away to Albany, a short 20 minute drive. When you book with us, you receive early check-in, subject to availability. After Albany’s Concierge staff walk you through the ins and outs of Albany, change into your beach gear and head over to the club in your rental golf cart for lunch at Azul, which has a beautiful view overlooking the adults-only pool and The Bahamas’ aquamarine waters. Spend the rest of the day lounging on Azul’s comfy daybeds while sipping cocktails. Our personal fav? A frozen mojito — ask for it “less sweet” if you want to make it healthier! Albany is always ready to customize any of your food and drink orders. Sunsets at Albany are beautiful, so we highly recommend you stick around and have a drink while watching the sun go down.
Head back to your accommodations and change into smart-casual attire for dinner. (Btw, unlike other private member clubs on the island, Albany never forces you to swelter in a jacket while sitting at a waterfront restaurant.) Head to the casual beachfront eatery Wave, where one of the world’s top chefs is running a pop-up restaurant.
Day 2: Relax and Enjoy
Start your day at Nineteen, the clubhouse restaurant overlooking Albany’s 18-hole championship golf course designed by Ernie Els. When you book with us, daily breakfast is included for up to two guests per bedroom. Afterwards, walk over to the spa for a couple’s massage in a private treatment villa complete with cascading waterfalls and soaking tubs.
Relax, have lunch delivered back to your accommodation and enjoy a bottle of bubbly in your private pool while you soak up some rays.
At night, take a leisurely stroll around Albany’s mega-yacht marina. Its 71 slips hold yachts up to 250 feet in length. It’s particularly romantic at night as the lights of yachts come on against the backdrop of Albany’s marina residences, which some of the world's most famous architects designed.
Tonight, take in the sounds of the lapping waves while dining on sushi at Vesper, which almost always enjoys a delightful ocean breeze.
Day 3: Explore and Sightsee
Excursion day! After breakfast, head to downtown Nassau to visit the Queen’s staircase, its 66 steps carved out of solid limestone by 600 slaves between 1793 and 1794. After ascending the steps, visit the nearby Fincastle Fort for panoramic views of Nassau’s harbor.
By now you’ve earned a reward — a tour and tasting at John Watling’s Distillery. The beautifully restored property dates to 1789 and even featured in a James Bond film. Moreover, the distillery’s small batch rums were selected to be served at the coronation events of King Charles! We’ve organized the chance for you to fill and wax dip seal your own bottle to take home. While there, don’t miss the mini-museum in the store full of fascinating artifacts and stories. Afterwards, linger on the patio with a handcrafted cocktail - we recommend the rum dum or piña colada, both of which are to die for! (It would be remiss of us if we didn't mention that the bartender responsible for the creation of the original rum dum is a resident bartender at John Watling's!)
Afterwards, head to the Fish Fry for a late lunch, a waterfront complex full of local eateries where you can try a Bahamian essential — conch! Until you’ve tried conch fritters, conch salad, conch stew and crack conch, you haven’t really been to The Bahamas. With such a busy day, you might not feel like eating out — have no fear, tonight, Albany’s concierge can organize a private chef to prepare you a delicious meal at your accommodation.
Day 4: Beach Club and Albany Resort Amenities Day
Today’s the morning to take full advantage of Albany’s other amenities. Perhaps you fancy a round of golf or some practice at the driving range? Or how about some racket sports to start your day? There’s of course tennis and pickleball available, but at Albany padel reigns supreme. There’s no better place to try your hand at padel than Albany, which has the largest collection of courts in The Bahamas. Albany’s in-house padel pro hails from Argentina by way of Spain and can get you started at a group padel clinic or private lesson.
Later, head down to the Beach Club to have some well-deserved lunch delivered to your beach loungers. After a few hours of relaxation, Albany will make another unusual delivery for you — a pair of horses! It’s time for you two to take a trot along the beach and into the ocean. There’s nothing quite like riding a horse through warm Bahamian waters.
Tonight you will head to the nearby Island House for craft cocktails at Yellowbell and live rake & scrape music, a traditional form of Bahamian music involving the playing of a saw! Afterwards, head upstairs to Shima for delicious Asian fusion food and watch the sun set over the masts of sailboats in Lyford Cay Marina. We can’t get enough of the twice cooked beef short rib.
Day 5: Exuma Cays and Private Boat Tour
Today is a special day. You are headed out to the Exuma Cays on a private boat trip. The day is yours to customize — while everyone heads for the swimming pigs, we recommend you check out swimming with the nurse sharks at Compass Point. Friendly sharks swimming around and under you make for the photo of a lifetime! Don’t miss the short stroll up the hill to the other side of Compass Cay, which has a beautiful beach and the crashing waves of the Atlantic. Fancy a snorkel? Head to one of the many nearby plane wrecks - a relic of the days of Pablo Escobar running drugs through The Bahamas into Florida.
For lunch, a private cabana has been provisioned for you on Highbourne Cay, an island only accessible by boat, seaplane or helicopter. Highbourne’s beaches and surrounding waters are extraordinary.
Back at Albany, head to dinner at Aviva, home to Albany’s most elevated menu in a romantic oceanside setting. Don’t miss the bread pudding for dessert — it’s an Albany classic and not to be missed!
Day 6: Albany Marina and Nexus Club
Time for a little souvenir shopping, so start your day at the Albany Marina. To fortify yourself for your browsing, start at Bisous Bisous, a French patisserie helmed by a French chef. We can’t resist the almond croissants or cinnamon rolls!
Next, drop into Purveyors to pick up some local Bahamian foodstuffs such as hot honey or spices. Then check out the Emporium, where you can find lots of Albany-branded merch (you haven’t been to Albany if you don’t leave with an Albany-branded “a” baseball cap).
Head over to Footprints for lunch, but don't forget your swimsuits. We recommend the tables under the newly renovated outdoor pavilion. Afterwards, take a couple runs down the waterslides at the “kids” pool — we promise we won’t tell! P.S. If you want a fantastic free shoulder massage, stand for a couple of minutes under the waterfall feature!
In the afternoon, take a short drive to the nearby Primeval Forest National Park, an old-growth evergreen tropical hardwood forest. There you will find dramatic limestone caverns and sinkholes that can be accessed by boardwalks. It’s a great place for an hour out of the hot afternoon sun.
Tonight you are headed for a big night on the town, where you will start at Nexus Club at Baha Mar, complete with pools, bars (including a Veuve Cliquot-branded bar) and private gaming rooms open to Albany guests. After a bit of fun, have dinner at one of Baha Mar’s many restaurants. We highly recommend booking in advance for Shuang Ba, a delicious Chinese restaurant. Don’t forget to pre-order the Peking duck! To wrap up the night, you can head to Sky Bar, an open-air roof lounge with stunning views, or if the dancing bug hits you, head over to Bond to dance the night away with live DJs.
Day 7: Last Full Day at Albany’s Spa
Sigh, is this really your last full day at Albany? You deserve a little more pampering at Albany’s spa. If you hit the cocktails a little too hard the night before, Albany’s in-house doctor can set you up for a rehydrating nutrient IV at the MedSpa.
Or, if you are feeling a bit livelier, we also won’t tell if you pop in to the indoor trampoline park for a few jumps before you spend your last afternoon on the beach.
Take tonight to revisit your favorite Albany eatery for one last time.
Day 8: Heading Home
Luckily you booked with us, so you got a late check out (subject to availability) and get to sneak in one more beach jaunt before having to shower and head to the airport.
What a week. This one was yours, but next time you can bring the kids. Albany’s built to ensure “me time” even if the kids are with you. The Conch House, a 5,400 square foot clubhouse for kids, will ensure they have supervised fun while you do you.
This is Albany, exclusive luxury at its finest.
