Things to do in Sedona, Arizona

wilde-resort-room-sedona-travel-guide

Sedona offers a variety of outdoor activities and scenic experiences, making it a perfect destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. Some of my top recommendations include:

  • Hiking: Sedona is home to numerous hiking trails with breathtaking views. Some of the my favorite trails to explore are Boynton Canyon, Fay Canyon Arch and the Seven Sacred Pools.

  • Chapel of the Holy Cross: This iconic chapel is a must-visit for its stunning architecture and sweeping views of Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte.

  • Off-Road Adventures: For a thrilling experience, consider renting an off-road vehicle, such as a side-by-side or an off-highway vehicle (OHV), to explore Sedona's rugged trails. Or sign up with Pink Adventure Tours for a ride in a Pink Jeep.

  • Yoga: Many local hotels offer yoga classes, allowing visitors to relax and connect with Sedona's serene surroundings.

  • Stargazing: Sedona’s dark skies provide an excellent opportunity for stargazing. On clear nights, you can join a stargazing event to marvel at the night sky.

  • Sunset at Sedona Airport Overlook: For one of the best sunset views in Sedona, head to the Sedona Airport Overlook, located off Airport Road. Afterward, treat yourself to a meal at the Mesa Grill, conveniently located at Sedona's private airfield, just steps from the overlook.

Places to eat & drink in Sedona, Arizona

Sedona's dining scene offers a mix of flavors. Here are some top recommendations to consider during your visit:

  • Mesa Grill: This restaurant combines delicious food with a scenic setting. Enjoy lunch while watching private planes land at the nearby airport, or stop by for dinner after catching the sunset from the Sedona Airport Overlook, just a short walk away. Recommend making a reservation.

  • Mariposa: For a fine dining experience, Mariposa is known for its exceptional steaks, sides and drinks. Reservations are a must and visiting before sunset is recommended to take advantage of the breathtaking views through the restaurant’s expansive glass windows.

  • Rascals: With an upscale diner atmosphere, Rascals is a dog-friendly spot that even has a special dog menu. Located at The Wilde Resort, it’s open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, offering flexibility for any meal. The same chef owns Mesa Grill and Rascals.

  • Dahl & Di Luca: For a taste of upscale Italian cuisine, Dahl & Di Luca provides an elegant dining experience that’s hard to beat. It’s a top choice for anyone seeking fine Italian fare in Sedona. Marisposa and Dahl & Di Luca are by the same chef but offer different cuisines.

  • Creekside: A favorite for breakfast, Creekside is a great way to start your day in Sedona. Enjoy their menu while taking in the peaceful surroundings.

  • Black Cow Cafe: If you’re in the mood for something sweet, Black Cow Cafe is known for its classic root beer floats — a perfect treat after a day of exploring.

  • Shorebird: This restaurant not only serves up delicious food but also offers a great backdrop, making it an excellent choice for those who want to dine with a view.
