Where to stay

Day 1: Arrival

You are likely to arrive mid-day or late afternoon. Arrive at one of the women-owned hotels recommended below. Because of Philly’s historical role in American democracy, many buildings like Guild House Hotel have a deep history of women taking bold action.

It’s Friday, so hit up Superfolie’s happy hour from 3–5 pm. Their freezer martini was voted best in Philly in 2024. The powerhouse team of women behind this wine bar also own The Good King Tavern and Le Caveau, a Loire Valley-inspired wine bar. Head there for dinner!

Day 2: Shops and local fare

Start your day at The Bok Building, a building that was re-developed by a woman-owned firm that specializes in adaptive reuse projects. Small businesses can pop up in this building without needing to have a brick-and-mortar store, providing them an opportunity to build their business. Fifty-two percent of the businesses are woman-owned. Grab a baked good from Second Daughter and buy skincare from Sabbatical Beauty. Walk up to the Italian Market to buy souvenirs for loved ones from Salt & Vinegar, owned by the woman who also manages Edible Philly!

Now that you are in the Italian Market, join Tiny Table Tours for a Beyond Italian Market tour. Founded by a former food writer, this is a woman-owned local small business. Their deep relationships with food and wine industry experts give this tour insider vibes. You may even get lucky and be able to do one of their rare Women in Wine tours!

Finish your day with a reservation at Her Place Supper Club, whose chef-owner is one of the best in Philly. If you are staying at Hotel Anna & Bel and looking for a dinner spot closer to Fishtown, Cicala at Divine Lorraine is co-owned by the incredible Italian pastry chef Angela Cicala.

Day 3: Coffee and spa

Before heading out of town, grab coffee and breakfast at the independent coffee roaster, Persimmon Coffee. If you have time, get a rejuvenating facial at Freedom Apothecary before your travels.

If you have extra days, be sure to visit the woman co-owned Mural City Cellars, Philly’s first urban winery.
