How to get to Formentera
There several options to travel to Formentera, public or private however plan to travel by boat.
By Plane: There is no airport on Formentera, so you will need to fly to Ibiza and then take a ferry to Formentera. There are several airlines that fly to Ibiza, including Ryanair, easyJet and Vueling. The flight from Barcelona to Ibiza takes about 50 minutes, and the flight from Madrid to Ibiza takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes.
By Ferry: There are several ferry companies that offer ferries to Formentera from Ibiza, Dénia, and Barcelona. The ferry from Ibiza to Formentera takes about 30 minutes and the ferry from Dénia to Formentera takes about 2 hours. The ferry from Barcelona to Formentera takes about 4 hours.
By Private Boat: You can charter a private boat and sail to Formentera from Ibiza or Dénia. There are several marinas in Formentera where you can dock your boat.
Once you arrive in Formentera, you can get around the island by walking, biking or taking the bus. The bus service is efficient and affordable and it can take you to all of the major towns and beaches on the island.
