Curator’s statement

With more direct flights available to Naples, Sorrento is a much easier destination to get to. Sorrento is the birthplace of limoncello where you can enjoy amazing food and wine, panoramic sunset views and cliffs, hiking across the peninsula and travel experiences with locals that will welcome you into their home. Since the secret is already out, don't miss the opportunity to also take a ferry to one of the most picturesque islands in the Bay of Naples, the volcanic island of Ischia. It tends to be much less touristy and you can soak in one of the natural thermal pools. This region is such a beautify part of Italy and a 'day trip' is not enough time to live like a local. Immerse yourself in the culture and be ready to be welcomed like family.

Where to stay

Unlock perks by contacting Michelle to book your trip.

Day 1: Arrival, Rest, Views

A boat tour is needed to discover the Amalfi coast.

You will likely arrive in Naples in the morning, with early check-in, you can settle into your hotel and get some rest before heading out to explore. I would recommend the Grand Hotel Parker’s. Grab a cappuccino at Coffee Ventimetriquadri. From there you can walk to the Castel Sant’Elmo for the best views in the city- it is free on the first Sunday of the month.

Day 2: Naples to Sorrento

Sorrento Cliffs

From Naples, you can take a one hour taxi ride to Sorrento.

Check-in to Gran Hotel Cocumella or Parco del Principi Sorrento.

Explore the main center square, piazza tasso, where you can people watch at one of the cafes. Of course, don’t miss the views of the panoramic cliffs surrounding you. Get lost shopping in the old town and then enjoy dinner with a view.

Day 3: Pompeii

Beautiful Pompeii vineyards and mountains in the distance.

Head out early for an excursion to Pompeii for a two hour walking tour. Enjoy the top sights of the ruined city and get the best from your visit with an expert archaeologist as your guide. From there, take a short drive to Cantina del vesuvio for a wine tasting and lunch. Enjoy the unique wines that have been produced on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius.

Relax poolside at your hotel for the remainder of the day before heading to dinner.

Day 4: Seaside Bliss and Beach Club

Capri Tour

Take a taxi to the port and hop on your private boat for the day. There is nothing like exploring this area from the sea. The boat has a large sun cover for those that want a break from the sun. You can customize your trip to include cruising to Capri, seeing the Faraglioni rocks, exploring one of the grottos, seeing the cliffs and swimming/snorkeling in the crystal clear water.

Stop for lunch at a restaurant only accessible by boat in small town like Nerano.
When you get back to port, you can walk over to Hotel Lorelei for private access to their Beach club until 7 p.m where you can enjoy your sun bed with beach umbrella, towels and welcome prosecco. The views from this point are spectacular and the service from the restaurant direct to your sun bed will not disappoint.

Day 5: Culinary Immersion and Family Feast

Cooking Demo

Have a very light breakfast today before heading to your local excursion.

A short ride away, you will be welcomed like family to a local's private home. After taking a look around at the stunning views and gardens, you will begin a cooking class and demonstration where you will get hands-on with family rolling out gnocchi and helping to prepare a farm-to-table meal. The attention to detail, quality of the food and wine and love you will feel from this family will make this day the highlight of your trip. Lunch may turn into dinner here.

Day 6: Positano

Positano View

Take a day trip to Positano. Wear your comfortable shoes so you can walk the steep streets and enjoy the scenic seaside overlooking the sunny Amalfi Coast.

Day 7: Ischia and Naples

Naples ariel view

Take a day trip to one of the most picturesque islands in the Bay of Naples, the volcanic island of Ischia to soak in one of the natural thermal pools. Enjoy exploring the gardens and beaches before finding your way to the west coast of the island to catch the sunset.
