Day 1: Discovering Old Town

Old Town Dubrovnik is overlooking the Adriatic Sea.

If you followed my recommendation to travel through much of the country, you may have flown into Zagreb. If that's the case, let's say that you arrived in Dubrovnik with your rental car the evening before. This is your first full day to explore this ancient city.

In the morning, you might want to sleep in and/or take your time. Sip some coffee on your balcony overlooking the bay of the city. After preparing for the day, head to the Stari Grad in Old Town. Did you know the old city of Dubrovnik is a UNESCO World Heritage site? It's often referred to as "The Pearl of the Adriatic".

The Old Town is the most iconic place in the city. It's a must see if you like history, beauty, water or Game of Thrones. Imagine spending the next three days in King's Landing. GOT fans know what I mean. It's a dream come true!

Grab some lunch at the numerous restaurants in Old Town. And then meet your guide for a tour of the Old Town. There are numerous tours you can join, whether you want a quick walking tour or a lengthy GOT Tour. Let me help book it for you!

Once you're done with your tour, find your way to the infamous undefined Buza Bar for a drink along the cliff's edge of the city's walls. Pro-tip: you can even wear your bathing suit underneath if you are up for a quick jump in the ocean then and there.

You might want to head back to your hotel to freshen up before heading back out for dinner that evening.

Day 2: Photo Day and Wineries

Have a winery tour in Dubrovnik.

Wake up early on day two and meet your local photographer for a photoshoot in the Old Town. Whether it's your honeymoon, you're a solo traveler or you're traveling as a family, it'll be so worth it. You might not be excited having your alarm going off super early, but trust me and do it!

You will get to the Old Town when it's quiet before the crowds have started. The photo session is a great way to see little coves from the Old Town that the mainstream tourist might not even know about.

After doing a photoshoot in Old Town, it might be starting to get crowded. Head out of Old Town to the "newer" part of the city, Gruz. This is the neighborhood my husband and I stayed in when we got engaged, and we loved it! We stayed up on a hill with a phenomenal view. We found it easy and safe to navigate, move around and go out for a late dinner.

Grab some lunch in Gruz, along the bay and sailboats before you head back to your hotel for a little R&R.

After relaxing, head to a winery for the afternoon/early evening. There are many wineries around Dubrovnik. Some are a lovely 30-60 minute drive south of the city, where you get to experience even more dramatic mountains. Again, I can help you book these!

Day 3: Beach Day

Pasjaca Beach is a hidden gem nestled at the base of dramatic cliffs.

For your last full day in Dubrovnik, I recommend you find some beach time in the Adriatic. Beaches along the Dalmatian Coast (especially Dubrovnik) are pebbly and rocky. But you can find some beach clubs where you can purchase a beach bed and umbrella to lay in while jumping in and out of the ocean.

You could visit Uvala Lapad beach, which is near the old town. A little further away is Pasjača Beach, sometimes referred to as one of the best beaches in Europe. There are so many more!

Because this is your last day in Dubrovnik, you might want to rest of being in the sun all afternoon. Then freshen up and choose many of the delicious restaurants for a last Dubrovnik dinner.
