As a native of St. Louis, MO, my recent move to North Carolina has been a bittersweet transition. While I've come to love my new home, St. Louis will forever hold a cherished place in my heart. With a rich Italian heritage shaping my culinary upbringing, the flavors of authentic Italian cuisine evoke a deep sense of nostalgia and connection to my roots. Sharing the warmth and tradition of my favorite childhood restaurants with fellow food and Italy enthusiasts is not just a passion but a heartfelt journey I can't wait to embark on together. Day 1: Arrive in St. Louis for Dinner at Rigazzi’s
2:30pm - Arrival
Airport - St. Louis Lambert International - 10701 Lambert International Blvd, St. Louis, MO
Rental Car - Hertz or Enterprise (depending on deals at time of booking)
Hotel - 21c Museum Hotel St Louis - 1528 Locust Street, St. Louis, Missouri, 63103
6:45pm - Dinner at Rigazzi’s awaits, only an 11-minute drive from the hotel. $10 - 20 / per person. Serving a taste of ‘the Hill’ since 1957, Rigazzi’s has become a St. Louis landmark. Rigazzi’s is the oldest restaurant in the Historic Hill neighborhood. An area founded by Italian immigrants and known in St. Louis as the place for guaranteed delicious Italian cuisine.
Day 2: The Old Spaghetti Factory
9:00am - Breakfast at hotel
11:45am- Lunch at Adriana's on the Hill is just an 11-minute drive from the hotel. $10 - 20 / per person. This charming eatery is a small, family-owned café located in St. Louis’ renowned Italian neighborhood, known as “The Hill.” Since its establishment in December of 1992, it has been under the care of Adriana Fazio and her daughters.
5:30pm - Dinner at The Old Spaghetti Factory is located just an 8-minute drive from the hotel. The Old Spaghetti Factory offers a unique dining experience. $10 - 20 / per person. Adorned with antique lighting, stained glass displays and even an old-fashioned trolley car. It's the perfect setting for any occasion, from family celebrations to romantic dinners. Please note that parking may incur an additional fee.
Day 3: Mama’s On The Hill
9:00am - Breakfast at hotel
11:45am - Lunch at Sauce on the Side, located about a 13-minute walk or 5-minute drive from the hotel, prides itself on fresh, homemade cuisine. $10 - 20 / per person. From our handcrafted calzones to our salad dressings and desserts, everything is made from scratch right here. Don't miss out on our renowned calzones. They're a must try!
5:30pm - Dinner at Mama’s On The Hill, a mere 14-minute drive from the hotel. $20 - 30 / per person. Since opening its doors in 1982, this iconic establishment, formerly known as Oldani's, now Mamma Campisi's. It has been a beloved destination for authentic red-sauce Italian dining. Step into a cozy old-school café adorned with delightful kitschy accents, offering not just a meal but an experience steeped in tradition and flavor. With inviting outdoor seating and a tempting array of vegetarian dishes, Mam's promises an unforgettable culinary journey for every palate.
Day 4: Brunch at Salve Osteria
9:00am - Breakfast at hotel (optional)
12:00pm - Brunch at Salve Osteria, just an 11-minute drive from the hotel. $30 - 50 / per person. Their team of talented chefs crafts all their pasta in-house, ensuring every bite is a masterpiece. Indulge in playful and creative cocktails from their extensive list, designed to delight every palate. They have a special affinity for brunch, offering dishes influenced by Northern Italy. Don't miss out on the excitement at The Gin Room, a James Beard Semifinalist bar. This is where their Brunch Craft Cocktail Menu puts a unique twist on all your favorites. Come savor the flavors of Salve Osteria for a dining experience unlike any other.
