Curator’s statement
My husband and I got engaged in Maui on the Kapalua side and have gone back many times with our families. There is something so special about the island, and it calls to us in our busiest of times when we're craving a mai tai for Aloha Hour and a little bit of that 'Island Time' lifestyle. When Back to School season comes around and summer starts to feel like it never happened, my husband and I really get the itch to get over there, even if for only a few nights. We (ok, just me) really wanted to check out the hotel that White Lotus was filmed at, because… do I really need to answer that?! Chill was the mode we were seeking, and we didn't want to have to leave the Four Seasons if we didn't want to (hint: we really didn't want to).

Things to do in Maui, Hawai'i
Stop at the Dive Shop at the Four Seasons and grab some snorkel gear. You need only to walk out into the ocean and head over to Turtle Town for some epic sightings. We saw a ton of turtles and plenty of fish and never had to leave our own beach to do so.
Spa at Four Seasons - I highly recommend the Oceanside Lomi Pohaku Stone Massage - Couples Massage for 105 minutes. Go for the extra time and go for the oceanside spa treatment area so you can hear the waves while you get your treatment. We *may* have opted to have a second treatment before we left. ;)
Trilogy Sail - we did Molokini this trip, but we’ve done almost all of the Trilogy sail trips over the years and they are by far the best. The first snorkel stop is to Molokini crater, followed by a 2nd stop to Turtle Town.
Play the Wailea Blue Golf course at the Four Seasons if you want a not-too hard course with endless views and potential whale sightings.
Walk the Wailea Beach Path every morning. Grab a to-go coffee from downstairs and walk the 3.5 mile roundtrip trail. By the time you're finishing your walk and coffee, it will be time to snag a beach chair.

Places to eat & drink in Maui, Hawai'i
Monkeypod Kitchen
I promise you I have tried mai tais anywhere and everywhere on both Maui, Kona and Kauai, and Monkeypod continues to be my #1. My husband and I love saddling up to the bar for dinner, and this bar was perfect for that (and it canceled out what could’ve been an hour's wait for a table). The food is always great - if you’re feeling casual, get the pork and pineapple pizza for local flavor. The macadamia nut-crusted fish is always a go-to for me here (and everywhere on the island) and the Fish + Chips is another star on the menu. We walked there and it was a nice walk back after dinner.
Lineage at Wilea Shops
The menu felt totally out there to me, and SO fun. We loved the Korean Fried Chicken and the Szechuan Noodles. And the cocktail list is incredible. You can walk there from the Four Seasons as well.
Spago - Hawaiian fusion with a view
Ferraro’s - This was our favorite of the restaurants at the Four Seasons and the only ocean-front dining available.
Duo Steak and Seafood - My husband isn’t the most adventurous eater, so this was a great option for him for dinner so he could feel ‘safe’ and just know he’ll have a meal he likes.
Poolside dining/drinks - If you want to re-enact a scene from White Lotus, make sure you spend some time at the pool. Rent one of the cabanas if you want to feel extra-White-Lotus-y and drink all the daytime mai tais you can.
