Day 1: Arrive in Paris
Check in to Hôtel Plaza Athénée
Located on the fashionable Avenue Montaigne, where it counts Dior, Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent as its neighbors, the hotel’s red awnings and geraniums are its signature accessories. This legendary hotel is glamorous (fashion editors check in here during Fashion Week) and glitters with crystal chandeliers that dot its public spaces. Plus, luxurious suites boast enviable views of the Eiffel Tower.
The hotel’s 1,400-square-feet Haute Couture Suite makes an appearance in Season 1 (episode 7). It’s a one-bedroom suite that’s impeccably decorated in elegant French style and is the perfect place to call home during your stay in Paris. It has an iconic view of the Eiffel Tower (which stuns even Emily herself).
Other highlights worth checking out (whether you’re a guest or not) include Le Bar and La Galerie (which both make an appearance during the series), as well as the Dior Spa.
If you’re looking for luxury on the Left Bank, Hôtel Lutetia is the ultimate palace hotel in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés. You may recognize this hotel from Season 2 (episode 6), when Sylvie meets her new love interest Erik at one of the hotel’s restaurants, Brasserie Lutetia. Over its over 100-year history, this hotel has welcomed some of the greatest artists and literary figures, including Picasso, Matisse, James Joyce and Josephine Baker.
Lunch at La Galerie
After you check in to your room you won’t have to travel far for lunch. La Galerie is a très chic spot in Plaza Athénée, illuminated by glistening chandeliers and the natural light of the hotel's ivy-covered courtyard. Pop Champagne (like Sylvie and Laurent) and toast to an epic trip as you dine on Parisian classics while listening to the soft melodies of a live harpist.
Stroll along Pont Alexandre III
Remember when Savoir shot a risqué perfume commercial for Antoine in Season 1 (episode 3)? It took place on the gorgeous Pont Alexandre III, one of the most ornate and extravagant bridges in all of Paris. Drink in the sweeping views of the Seine and Eiffel Tower and take lots of photos (for your Instagram, of course).
Cruise along the Seine
In Season 2 (episode 5), Emily throws a party on a bâteau mouche (which translates to “fly boat”). There’s something so magical about cruising around the city. Although the boat that Emily arranged can hold up to 220 people for a fête, you can also arrange a private boat tour along the Seine. So much more romantic, non?
Dine alongside the Eiffel Tower as it sparkles
What’s a more magical way to end your first evening in Paris than by dining with a view of the Eiffel Tower as it sparkles? In Season 1 (episode 2), Emily attends the Maison Lavaux perfume party at Café de l’Homme, a restaurant with truly magical views of the Iron Lady. It has since closed for private events only (maybe taking a cue from the show?), but fear not! If you’re looking for a restaurant with equally beautiful views of the Eiffel Tower, terrace at Girafe, just a few steps away, is another fabulous option.
Day 2: Explore Emily’s neighborhood
Grab un pain au chocolat
Start the day at Emily’s local boulangerie, Boulangerie Moderne. Order a pain au chocolat and let the flaky, buttery goodness tickle your tastebuds.
Walk (don’t run) through Jardin du Luxembourg
Just a few blocks from Emily’s apartment is Jardin du Luxembourg, one of the most beautiful gardens in Paris. Episode 2 of Season 1 opens with Emily running through the park, listening to French lessons. Spend some time walking through the gardens, people watching and reading a book before exploring Saint-Germain-des-Prés.
Lunch at Ralph’s for some comfort food
In Season 1 (episode 9), Emily meets une américaine at Ralph’s, Ralph Lauren’s elegant restaurant on the grand Boulevard Saint Germain. Located in a 17th-century private mansion, the restaurant is famous for its warm wood beams, worn leather banquettes and burgers. If the weather is nice, sit in the courtyard.
People watch at the iconic Café de Flore
Cap off the afternoon with a glass of wine en terrasse at Café de Flore, one of the oldest coffeehouses in Paris. Viewers learn about the history of Café de Flore and its neighbor Les Deux Magots in Season 1 (episode 6), thanks to the handsome professor that Emily meets. This spot is one of the best for people watching. And who knows, maybe you’ll strike up an interesting conversation, too.
Day 3: Chase romance and rooftops
Walk the “prettiest street in Paris”
According to Mindy, Rue de l’Abreuvoir holds the title of being the “prettiest street in Paris” — and with good reason. The winding street looks like it’s straight out of a fairytale, with its vine-covered walls, cobblestone sidewalks and imposing Sacre Coeur in the background. It’s also the (perfect) spot for one of Emily’s marketing campaigns in Season 1 (episode 5).
Lunch at La Maison Rose
At the top of Rue de l’Abreuvoir sits the very Instagrammable La Maison Rose, an adorable pink house that has been standing for over 100 years. Mindy and Emily dine here in Season 1 (episode 5), and it’s a sweet spot to sip some chilled wine and grab a bite to eat. Make sure to ask for a table outside (to people watch and take pics).
Check out the rooftop views at Galeries Lafayette
Some of the best rooftop views in all of Paris are at the top of Galeries Lafayette, an upscale department store. In Season 2 (episode 5), Emily and Camille meet at Tortuga, a restaurant on the rooftop of Galeries Lafayette. Although Tortuga has since closed, you can still go to the top of the store and gaze out at the city (and do a little shopping, too).
See an opera at Palais Garnier
Down the street from Galeries Lafayette is Palais Garnier, the grand opera house where Emily meets her date to see Swan Lake in Season 1 (episode 6). She may have missed the ballet, but that doesn’t mean you should. An evening here (whether watching a ballet or opera performance) is an evening well spent.
Day 4: See where Emily works (and plays)
Breakfast at the Louvre
Few can say they’ve enjoyed breakfast with the Louvre pyramids as their backdrop. In episode 1 of Season 2, Emily, Camille and Sylvie dine at Le Café Marly, an upscale restaurant under the arcades of the Louvre. Grab breakfast here before spending the rest of the morning at the museum.
Relax at Jardin du Palais Royal
After walking through the Louvre you’re going to want to rest your feet. Park yourself on a bench at Jardin du Palais Royal, where Emily and Mindy meet in Season 1 (episode 1). See if you can spot the exact bench they sat on, near the fountain. It has a plaque inscribed with the phrase, “Aujourd’hui, c’est demain et hier qui s’épousent,” which translates to, “The present is a marriage of the past and the future.”
Lunch at Palais Royal Restaurant
Remember when Emily and Mindy met for “breakfast wine” in Season 1 (episode 3)? That took place at Palais Royal Restaurant, a Michelin-starred restaurant on the edge of Jardin du Palais Royal. Grab a table outside for lunch and a view.
Visit Savoir HQ
Although Savoir is a fictional company, you can snap a photo of the now-familiar exterior of Emily’s office at Place de Valois, just steps from Jardin du Palais Royal.
Retail therapy at La Samartine
In Season 2 (episode 4) we get a glimpse of the legendary La Samartine, where Emily and Petra go on a shopping crime spree. This iconic department store, which recently reopened in 2021 after having been closed for 16 years, is an Art Deco and Art Nouveau landmark and has been painstakingly restored. If there’s anywhere to make your "Emily in Paris" fashion dreams come true, it’s here.
Day 5: J’adore art and ice cream
Immerse yourself in Van Gogh’s art, literally
When Emily is the third wheel to Camille and Gabriel’s date at Atelier des Lumières, in Season 1 (episode 5), it makes things just a little bit awkward. Luckily, your visit to this immersive Vincent Van Gogh art exhibit will be drama-free.
Picnic at Place des Vosges
Everyone knows Mindy and Benoit are #couplegoals. In Season 2 (episode 7), they share their first kiss in Place des Vosges, a beautiful square in the Marais. It’s the perfect spot for a picnic lunch, so visit the neighboring shops to grab baguettes, meat and cheese.
Ice cream at La Flore en l’Île
After lunch, walk over to La Flore en l’Île and grab a table on the sidewalk overlooking Notre Dame. You’ll recognize this spot from Season 1 (episode 1), where Emily and Luc have a little heart-to-heart after her first week of work. One of the things this restaurant is known for is serving Paris’s famous Berthillon ice cream. Emily would have felt much better if she had ordered some.
Dinner at Le Grand Vefour
For your final dinner, head back to Jardin du Palais Royal. Dine at Le Grand Vefour, an opulent Michelin-starred restaurant that has been around for more than 200 years. In Season 1 (episode 4), Sylvie tells Emily to make a reservation at Le Grand Vefour. Emily does indeed snag a reservation, but for the wrong day. Luckily, you’ll actually get to enjoy this incredible dining experience.
