Day 1: A Subtle Arrival Into Music City
Seeing beyond the Honky Tonks upon arrival may be hard, but Nashville offers a multitude of experiences. Trust me, there is no better introduction to Music City than by taking it in slowly. Keep in mind that Nashville is a large city, so be prepared for some walking, Uber rides, or driving to fully enjoy its offerings from a locals perspective.
Nashville offers some amazing, and truly unique hotels. Let's check in to The Jospeh, where you'll embark on a unique experience immersed in rare art from world-renowned collectors, The Pizzuti Family. The hotel's distinctive atmosphere sets the stage for an unforgettable stay, surrounded by over 1000 captivating artworks that inspire and engage.
Have some time to kill before dinner? Indulge your sweet tooth at the Goo Goo Chocolate Co. This iconic Nashville gem holds a fun history fact: not only is it the birthplace of the Goo Goo Cluster, it was the first-ever combination candy bar.
Let the evening commence! For dinner, head to Miel Restaurant. This french-inspired culinary gem has been curating unforgettable seasonal dishes for the past 15 years, sourcing ingredients locally to curate a truly exceptional dining experience. Prepare to tantalize your taste buds and savor the flavors of their ever-changing, carefully crafted menu.
After dinner, keep the evening going with some subtle adventures. Explore Otto's, a craft cocktail neighborhood lounge housed in a former auto shop, and/or head back to The Joseph and discover Four Walls, a hidden and intimate cocktail bar known only to those in the know.
Day 2: Immersing in Nashville's Vibrant Culture and Culinary Delights
After a delightful breakfast at Two Hands, get ready to explore the vibrant neighborhood of The Gulch. Indulge in some retail therapy at favorite stores like Kittenish and Lululemon, or enjoy the lively atmosphere at rooftop bars that offer stunning views of the city.
To dive deeper into Nashville's history and culture, hop aboard the Hop On Hop Off Tour. This narrated experience with 13 stops will take you on a captivating journey, showcasing the city's iconic landmarks and hidden gems.
For a must-do lunch experience, either take an Uber or Hop Off the tour at Bicentennial Park. Discover Germantown's Little Hats Market, a gourmet Italian-style market and deli. Don't miss their Spicy Italian sandwich, substituting the bread for freshly baked focaccia--it's a true delight. Take your time exploring the shops and bars like Mother's Ruin in Germantown or hop back onboard to complete your comprehensive tour of Nashville.
In the evening, prepare for a memorable dining experience at one of the city's most coveted restaurants: Jeff Ruby's. With live music and exceptional cuisine, this upscale establishment promises an unforgettable evening. Dress to impress and savor the culinary delights while immersing yourself in the vibrant atmosphere.
As the night unfolds, venture into Printers Alley, a historic district known for its entertainment offerings. Catch a mesmerizing burlesque show at Skull's Rainbow Room or elevate the excitement by heading to Pushing Daisies, an underground tequila bar on Broadway.
Day 3: Embracing Nashville and Unleashing Your Inner Child
You're probably feeling Nashville by now! Take a leisurely morning and sleep in, but not too much--there's plenty of excitement awaiting you.
It's brunch o'clock! Head to the lively neighborhood of 12 South, where an array of delights awaits. Start your day with a delightful brunch at Josephine's, helmed by Chef Andy Little, a James Beard Semifinalist. Here, southern hospitality merges with Dutch roots, creating a unique and exceptional dining experience.
After brunch, explore the charm of 12 South. From seasonal markets, to pop-up vendors, to the boutiques that line the street. Be sure to stop at my favorite clothing store, Buck Mason. Before embarking on more adventures, grab a quick pastry from Butter Milk Ranch or Five Daughters to keep your energy high!
Now, it's time to relive your youth! Visit Pins Mechanical Company, where you can enjoy small-balls and quality libations while engaging in a variety of games, from duckpins to pinball. For an upscale and tech-infused mini golf experience, head to Putt Shack, where you can test your skills while savoring a cocktail. Do not hesitate to check out both, as they are neighbors.
While the tempting food options in Nashville may be enticing, save room for Noko, a new restaurant on the Nashville food scene. Delight in an early dinner, savoring their delectable asian-inspired, wood-fired offerings before your night on the town in East Nashville. You won't want to miss the Coconut cake!
As the sun sets, get ready for an unforgettable night out! Explore the captivating venues of East Nashville like Urban Cowboy Public House, Chopper, Rosemary & Beauty Queen, and my personal favorite, Tiger Bar. And don't forget to indulge in a late-night snack at Sweeza Super Quesadilla, satisfying your cravings before calling it a night.
Day 4: A Grand Exit
As your thrilling 72-hour adventure in Nashville draws to a close, savor these final moments in Music City that have captivated your heart. Before bidding farewell, indulge in a delightful breakfast at Dozens Bakery or head to L&L Market.
To make the most of your remaining time, here are a few last-minute activities to enjoy:
Cheekwood Estate & Gardens: Wander through the stunning landscapes, explore the art exhibits, and marvel at the historic estate.
Hit Broadway for More Live Music: As a grand finale, return to Broadway and immerse yourself once again in the lively atmosphere of live music. Visit the honky-tonks, listen to the talented musicians pouring their hearts into their performances, and let the energy of the music infuse your soul one last time.
Grand Ole Opry Backstage Tour: Delve behind the scenes in the iconic Grand Ole Opry with a backstage tour. Discover the rich history, legendary performances, and fascinating stories that have shaped this renowned country music institution. Experience the magic that has enchanted audiences for decades.
Let the rhythms of the city linger in your heart as you bid farewell, knowing that you've experienced the essence of this remarkable destination. Until we meet again, farewell, and may the music of Nashville continue to dance within you.
