Things to do in Charleston
Take a carriage tour - Great to do on your first day to get a sense of the city and it's history. I like Palmetto Carriage Works.
Listen to live music - Henry's on Market and Uptown Social both have several levels where you will find everything from country crooners to vibey DJ sets.
Commemorate your girls trip with permanent bracelets - Grit and Grace Studio has a great selection.
Shop till you drop on King Street - or book a shopping tour which includes the best of local shopping, special discounts and wine!
Take to the water and explore Charleston from a different viewpoint - A sunset cruise with your besties is perfection.
Visit one of the plantations and explore the historic houses, gardens and grounds - two favorites are the Magnolia Plantation which contains America's oldest garden and the Boone Hall Plantation which was featured in The Notebook.
Places to eat & drink in Charleston
You haven't been to Charleston unless you have hit a rooftop! The Citrus Club at the Dewberry hotel has stunning views of the city - try the purple rain cocktail or the coconut margarita - both hit the spot on a warm day.
Don't miss Callie's Hot Little Biscuit for a taste of the south - go for the mini biscuits if you want to sample a few flavors.
A great spot for dinner is Church and Union - the stained glass windows and sky high ceilings will transport you. The chorizo meatballs were a standout dish.
Hot spot High Cotton is an elevated dining experience for your and your girls - start your evening with their famous espresso martinis.
Lunch at Leon's Oyster shop is a Charleston institution - you must try the grilled oysters, and the fried chicken or shrimp sandwiches are to die for.
For a special treat, Buzzed Bull Creamery makes boozy ice cream to order - you can watch them create this liquid nitrogen magic in their open kitchen. Highly recommend the cherry tequila gelato.
