Things to do in Milos
Beaches
Kleftiko Beach: Amazing area to swim, only accessed by boat, you can swim through the cavernous shores known to be a pirate hide out in previous centuries. If you're looking for a semi-private tour around the island Naya Yachting is an affordable and provides a superb experience.
Sarakiniko: The most famous beach of Milos, explore the moon-like landscape and walk along the coast until you find the ideal spot to watch and partake in some cliff jumping as you lounge on the soft rock formations.
Papafragas: This beach offers something for everyone. Theres a sandy beach sandwiched between two rock walls, one leading to a cave you can swim through and jump off the top.
Firopotamos: Located near a small fishing village, you can lay on the beach or make your way to the right side of the town, walk past some ruins and make your way down to a picturesque swimming spot.
Day Trips
If you book a boat day, make sure to visit one of the neighboring islands - Poliegos and the blue lagoon, or Kimolos.
Getting Around
ATVs or Scooters are the best way to get around the island, book ahead to secure your vehicle!
Places to eat & drink in Milos
Eat
Medousa: Popular and delicious seafood restaurant right on Mandrakia point, beautiful place to watch the sun go down.
Bakalikon Galanis: This off the beaten path, local spot was one of my favorite meals! It's small, intimate, no frills and the food was delicious.
O! Hamos! Tavern: We loved this seaside restaurant so much we went twice in one week! It's very popular with tourists but for good reason, it's family run, with a cozy outdoor atmosphere and the food is insane.
Sirocco: All day restaurant with a fancy beach lounge option, they cook their specialties in the sand where the lava from the volcano is moving under the ground!
Astakas: Head to the small fishing village of Klima, another great spot to watch the sunset and have a seafood filled dinner right on the water.
Drink
Verina Cocktail Bar: Skip the popular Utopia for sunset and head to the other side of Plaka area to grab a cocktail from Verina. Located right next to the church in Plaka, you can settle on a cushion along the church wall and enjoy the sunset with a cocktail avoiding the crowds.
Syrma Beer Shop: Located in Plaka, down a small street, two young friends brew their own craft beer in town and sell their own plus other Greek micro-brews. They are super helpful and fun, and may even sit outside and have a drink with you.
Phatses: Also in Plaka, this quirky, colorful, bohemian bar is an amazing place for a few drinks after being in the water all day.
