Curator’s statement

Cabo San Lucas may be deemed a "trendy" or "hot spot" vacation destination, but it's with good reason. The weather is essentially perfect all year round, which means you don't have to work around a small travel window to visit and the views are immaculate. Hotel and resort options are plentiful, whether you're looking for an all-inclusive, family-friendly resort or high-end luxury hotels for a romantic trip for two. Cabo has it all, and it's a destination that I've been to more than once, and already plan on going back to again.

Things to do in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Boat & Catamaran Cruise

If budget and/or schedule allows, you should definitely schedule a boat or catamaran cruise while in Cabo. Whether you do a half-day or full-day, or want to center the cruise around whale watching (Note: whale watching season is primarily mid-December through April) or sunset, you can't go wrong. There are also small beaches and picturesque arches ("El Arco") to stop at along your journey.

Tequila Tasting

There are several ways you can experience a tequila tasting in Cabo, but one special experience is the Tequila Tasting Experience with Jorge Cuervo (founder of Jose Cuervo tequila).

ATV Tours

Set up an ATV tour through Wild Canyon Adventures. You can reserve a specific date and time, and they arrange a shuttle van pick-up and drop-off at your hotel. The ATV tour gives you the opportunity to ride through all different terrains, which even includes riding over a hanging bridge. Plus, they take countless pictures for you during the tour (which, yes, you have to pay for), and you can refuel right on site with some light bites and drinks.

Jazz on the Rocks

A jazz club right above Sunset Monalisa, which means you can make a perfect night out pairing with dinner at Sunset Monalisa and then walk right on up/over to Jazz on the Rocks for some live jazz music. Note you can also get food and drinks here.

Golfing

There are a handful of beautiful golf courses to choose from. Book a tee time on the early side and then you can spend the afternoon relaxing by the pool or on the beach with your drink of choice.

Visit the Hotel Spa (If Applicable)

If your hotel has a spa, treat yourself to a little pampering! The Cape had an awesome spa, and our massages were actually al fresco on the beach (but still very private!) It's a great treat to throw in the mix if that's your kind of thing.

Places to eat & drink in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

A pink, orange and blue sunset view over the mountains and water from a clear fence and patio.

El Huerto Farm to Table: Somewhat inland and off-the-beaten-path, the grounds at El Huerto are beautiful and spacious, and the food is farm-to-table fresh and delicious.

Flora Farms: Though a trendy hot spot, Flora Farms is definitely worth the visit, with a focus on organic and farm-to-table options. (Note: You can also come here for their spa, as well as cooking and painting classes, etc. during the day).

Sunset Monalisa: As the name may indicate, you might come to Sunset Monalisa for the food and drinks, but the real draw is the amazing view of the sunset. A great al fresco dining option with good vibes, and very photo-worthy location. If not already obvious, try to score a reservation time that allows you to be dining during sunset!

La Lupita Taco & Mezcal: Come to La Lupita Taco & Mezcal for the tacos and mezcal drinks, and can always cap off the meal with churros if dessert is your thing.

The Office: A well-known staple of the downtown Cabo area, The Office (on the Beach) is a laidback bar and grill with great views of the water and El Arco and gives off a fun vibe with its bright colored decor.

Bagatelle: You can admittedly probably skip this one based off of food alone, but if you're in Cabo for a bachelor or bachelorette party, Bagatelle could be a great spot for a late-night dinner turned dance party if you're looking for that kind of energy and atmosphere.

The Ledge at the Thompson: If you're here for breakfast or brunch, do not skip out on their french toast - it is SO good. If here for lunch, or staying at The Cape hotel, I can personally attest that I did not get sick of ordering their nachos (every day).

Cocina del Mar: Located waterfront at the Esperanza hotel, with amazing views and ambiance, it's worth snagging a reservation at this restaurant (especially if not staying at the Esperanza). Great seafood, pasta and cocktails.
