Things to do in Maui

Road to Hana: Black sand beach, red sand beach, rainbow bamboo trees, waterfalls, Aunt Sandy’s banana bread and so much more to experience. Get up super early one morning and hit the road before everyone else so you’re not stuck behind lots of cars the whole day. Pick and choose where you want to stop. This is pretty much a full-day adventure.

Haleakala National Park: Another adventure that begins with getting up extremely early, but the views are SO worth it. I recommend doing this with a tour. See the sunrise from above the clouds and bike down. It’s very cold at the top, so definitely wear layers. Who knew you would need a toboggan and gloves in Hawai'i?

Whale Watching, snorkeling, ziplining through the rainforest, Lahaina ATV adventures, Maui Pineapple Tour and more!

Places to eat & drink in Maui

Not saving the best for last:

  • Mama’s Fish House: Worth the hype. Make reservations far in advance. Arrive early to experience sunset on the beach outside the restaurant.

  • Matteo’s Osteria: Great Italian in Wailea.

  • Ferraros at Four Seasons: Great ambience and even better food!

  • Merriman’s: Stunning dinner spot!

  • Nick’s Fishmarket: Gorgeous views and delicious food!

  • Monkeypod: Great lunch spot. Make sure to get a Mai Tai here.

  • Duke’s: Great lunch spot.

Need to know

Spend the day relaxing by a stunning pool, sunbathe on the beach listening to the waves crash or experience the island like a local — either way, you won’t be disappointed. Check out Ho’okipa beach to watch the turtles come in at sunset. Check out Ocean Vodka for cocktails and flatbreads and be sure not to miss the Maui Cookie Lady! I brought a lot of goodies home for friends. Come experience the Maui Magic!
