Curator’s statement

Looking for a great bachelor party destination? Louisville, Kentucky, is a great landing spot for a groom to say goodbye to his single life surrounded by all his favorite people! I've rounded up a 4-day itinerary to help navigate the weekend. There is plenty of room to customize this to include more (or less).

Louisville has so much rich history! The streets are lined with educational signage and historic districts. The Barrel on Main is the perfect place for a group photo! The best time to visit is April to June. Keep in mind the Kentucky Derby takes place in May - if you're not looking to visit during a busy weekend! I love that it's so easy to customize the trip to distilleries that you're most interested in seeing. This can also be an exciting trip for a group of friends! Have a great time in The Bourbon District! Cheers!

Where to stay

Day 1

A well lit bar counter with stools and wine bottles.

Arrive in Louisville, Kentucky, and check into The Grady or 21c Museum Hotel. Spend some time unpacking and resting for the first night out. Host pre-dinner drinks at Hell or High Water to catch up. Go to dinner at Repeal Oak-Fired Steakhouse - this menu is one for the books. This restaurant is great for setting the tone for the weekend. Feel free to keep it low-key for the rest of the evening or night cap at the hotel bar.

Day 2

A wine bottle with label Woodford Reserve.

Wake up and grab a quick breakfast at the hotel. Then prep for a day trip with a driver to Woodford Reserve, Wild Turkey, Four Roses, Buffalo Trace and many more around Lexington and Frankfurt. You can customize tours to your preferences depending upon what company you book with. I do recommend a stop for lunch in Frankfurt at Bourbon on Main. Retreat back to hotel to get ready for dinner at Mussel and Burger Bar. The burger selections are unmatched and if you didn't have enough Bourbon for the day - they have an extensive list! Get out an explore the nightlife in Louisville. You'll find options for whatever you're feeling - jazz, karaoke, dive bar or live music!

Day 3

A woman sitting with a rack with display of baseball bats.

Wake up, get ready and have breakfast at Gralehaus. Be sure to pick up an Urban Bourbon Trail Passport for stamping. Discuss your plan for the day at breakfast and then tour walkable distilleries - depending upon where you want to start/end your day. Stop in at Merle’s Whiskey Kitchen for lunch (this is close to Old Forester). Once you've gotten six stamps, you can pick up a special gift at the Visitors Center. Looking for some in-between activities? There are several museums that are also walkable, such as the Louisville Slugger Museum and Frazier History Museum. After collecting your gift from the visitor center, go back to the hotel before heading to dinner at Against the Grain. Still haven't seen enough? Head back out into Downtown Louisville for the last night out!

Day 4

A plate with bread with a sunny side up egg.

Once you've packed up and checked out of the hotel, grab breakfast together at Wild Eggs or Big Bad Breakfast. After breakfast, say goodbyes and head out for the airport.
