Things to do in Amalfi

Da Ferdinando

Just a 10-minute walk along the coastal path from the Positano ferry port, Da Ferdinando is a family-owned beach club & restaurant on Fornillo Beach. Arguably one of the best beach clubs along the Amalfi Coast for its laidback atmosphere, delicious food & great service, a day at Da Ferdinando is sure to be a highlight of your trip.

A set of sunbeds & umbrellas starts at 75 euros.

Arienzo Beach Club

If you’re on social media, you’ve probably seen influencers lounging under bright orange umbrellas with bottles of champagne glistening in the sun. Take the 5-minute complimentary shuttle boat ride from Spiaggia Grande in Positano and enjoy a variety of dishes, cocktails, champagne & a daily DJ set to keep the vibes high.

Basic Package for two starts at 350 euros.

La Scogliera

The most exclusive & posh beach club experience on the Amalfi Coast, La Scogliera is located at the end of Spiaggia Grande with magnificent views of the cliffside village of Positano. For extra exclusivity and romance, book the Dream experience - a set of beach chairs perched on the rocks at the very end of the beach with an unobstructed view of Positano.

Superior sunbeds for two starts at 250 euros.

One Fire

Located in Praiano, One Fire takes partying to a new level and is the definition of fun in the sun. Expect a DJ, Melon Time at 4:30 p.m. everyday (if you know, you know) and an overall upbeat atmosphere. Although there is no official beach at One Fire, you can jump into the warm Mediterranean at your heart’s content. A free boat shuttle service operates from the main pier in Positano and Marina de Praia in Praiano.

Standard Plus Experience starts at 200 euros per person.

La Gavitella

Located next to One Fire in Praiano, La Gavitella offers a more relaxed beach club experience than its upbeat neighbor. With stunning views of Positano in the distance, La Gavitella offers sun loungers, king-sized cabanas, a full-service (and very delicious) restaurant and even onsite cooking classes.

Amalfi Coast Beach Experience starts at 35 euros per person.

Beach Club at Hotel Santa Caterina

Only a handful of hotels along the Amalfi Coast have their own private beach clubs, and Hotel Santa Caterina is certainly a hotel to put on your radar. The beach club offers a seaside saltwater swimming pool, bar and restaurant. Just a short walk or complimentary shuttle ride to the center of Amalfi, the property offers the perfect location to base yourself to explore the coast.

Marinella Beach Club at Borgo Santandrea

Experience la dolce vita at Marinella Beach Club at the luxurious Borgo Santandrea outside of Amalfi in the small commune of Conca dei Marini . Exclusive to hotel guests, you can reach the beach by elevator or a beautiful walk through the property’s gardens. Complete with a beach bar and restaurant, you can plan to spend your days lounging on one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world.

Exclusively for hotel guests

Maya Beach Experience

Although not technically on the Amalfi Coast, Maya Beach Experience is the perfect place to spend a beach day if you’re staying in Sorrento. Just a 15-minute drive from the town center, Maya Beach experience offers a bit of Mykonos on the Sorrentine Peninsula. The property boasts elevated design elements, pools, restaurants, several VIP lounge areas and a hotel. If you want to dance the night away, the beach club turns into a nightclub as the sun sets every weekend.

A set of sunbeds & umbrellas starts at 100 euros.

Lunch

Da Adalfo

Arguably one of the most famous and down-to-earth restaurant establishments along the Amalfi Coast, a trip to Da Adolfo for a seaside lunch is an absolute must.

Pro tip: They only take reservations by phone, so make sure to reserve your table well in advance to snag a spot.

Ristorante L’Abside

Just a few steps from the Duomo in the center of Amalfi town, this family-owned restaurant focuses on local dishes made with fresh ingredients by chefs who are born and raised on the coast.

Da Ferdinando

You may recognize Da Ferdinando as one of the beach clubs that made this list, and I absolutely had to add them to one of the best places to grab lunch as well. Make sure to order a Panino Amalfi for a beachside snack & the Spaghetti “alla Nerano” - a regional pasta dish originating in Nerano, just up the coast from Positano.

Dinner

La Tagliata

La Tagliata is an experience in and of itself. Perched in the hills above Positano, the restaurant is truly farm-to-table where the heart of their dishes are grown in their garden or produced on their farm. From delicious freshly prepared meals, cooking classes and more, a visit to La Tagliata is a must if you can snag a reservation. Make sure to reserve far in advance as they book up extremely quickly.

Da Vincenzo

Located halfway up the steep hillside in Positano, Da Vincenzo is a staple in the Positano food scene. Offering both indoor and alfresco dining since 1958, the restaurant offers traditional dishes local to the Campania region. Advanced reservations are strongly recommended.

Zass

For a Michelin-starred gastronomic experience, head over to Il San Pietro’s onsite restaurant, Zass. Perfect for celebrating special occasions, the restaurant offers an alfresco dining experience overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Reservations are strongly recommended.

Drinks

ll Tridente

Awarded as one of the best rooftops in Italy for the last three consecutive years, Il Tridente offers a cocktail bar and restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. With a romantic atmosphere and live music on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, this cocktail bar should be at the top of your list during your visit to Positano. Reservations are required.

Aldo’s Cocktail Bar

Head over to the world-renowned Le Sirenuse to experience Aldo’s - a cocktail bar and seafood grill with the iconic view of the cliffside village of Positano.

Franco’s Bar

Perched above La Spaggia Grande in Positano, Franco’s Bar is the perfect place to grab a sunset pre-dinner cocktail and take in the views of the magnificent Mediterranean.
