Curator’s statement

Having personally honeymooned in Curaçao, I fell in love with this charming Caribbean Island located off the coast of Argentina among the ABC Islands — Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao. This Dutch island is full of culture and incredible dining, as well as some of the most beautiful beaches in all of the Caribbean. Situated outside the hurricane belt, Curaçao is the perfect destination for late-summer and fall honeymoons.

Things to do in Curaçao

Explore Willemstad: Take a walking tour of Punda or Otrobanda — Willemstad’s two unique sides connected by the floating pontoon Queen Emma Bridge — and experience the city’s rich culture. Spend time discovering local markets and shops and learn about the history of the island — and why the buildings are so colorful!

Relax in Luxury: Spend the day relaxing at Baoase Luxury Resort with a day pass. Enjoy the boutique resort’s quiet lagoon and pristine private beach before enjoying a multi-course lunch at their top-rated beachside restaurant.

Visit the Blue Curaçao Liquor Distillery: Learn about this vibrant drink with a guided tour and tasting through the Curaçao Liqueur Distillery at Landhuis Chobolobo.

Day Trips

West Side Tour: Take a tour of the island’s West Side, exploring Curaçao’s most famous beaches, like Playa Kenepa and Playa Lagun, and swim with sea turtles at Playa Piskado!

East Side Tour: Take an ATV or Buggy Tour of Curaçao’s less populous East Side and explore a totally different and unique terrain

Little Curaçao: Take a day trip over to Klein Curaçao — aka “Little Curaçao” - via a catamaran that is complete with breakfast, lunch, drinks and music. Explore the island’s abandoned lighthouse, snorkel in the crystal clear waters or enjoy time relaxing on the beach before heading back to Willemstad.

The Wine Cellar: Offering a fine dining experience, The Wine Cellar is the perfect place for a romantic dinner. Owned by Nico Cornelisse, a ‘Maitre Rotisseur’ from Holland, the restaurant has been a renowned dining room in Curaçao for more than 30 years and combines authentic French cuisine with Caribbean flair.

Need to know

Curaçao is a great alternative to its more expensive neighbor, Aruba, as well as some of the Caribbean's more popular islands. It's a true hidden gem and you will find yourself not wanting to leave and itching to return!
