Day 1: Drive to Breckenridge

8:50 am — Landing in Denver (30–45 minutes to retrieve bags and get rental car).

10:30 am — Breakfast at Moonlight Diner, near the airport, before driving to Breckenridge. The diner is popular, so you might need to wait a little. I suggest joining the virtual waitlist when you land.

Noon — Drive to Breckenridge, about two-and-a-half hours from Denver.

2:30 pm — Check in at your cabin, get settled and rest until supper.

6 pm — Have supper at Whiskey Star Smokehouse.

8 pm — Relax at the cabin, sit in the hot tub, play cards, etc.

Day 2: Hiking and exploring Main Street

Get to know Breckenridge with a short hike and exploring the main street.

8 am - Breakfast at Blue Moose Restaurant. It gets busy, so going early will make it easier to find parking.

10 am - Sawmill Reservoir, six minutes from Blue Moose Restaurant, a short and easy hike around a lake.

Noon - Lunch at Empire Burger.

2 pm - Explore Main Street for shops, galleries, photo opportunities, etc.

4 pm — Relax back at the cabin.

6 pm - Supper at Kenosha Breck.

Day 3: Museum and mine day

Museum and mine day learning about the history of Breckenridge. Later, take in the views with a Gondola Ride.

9 - Breakfast at BoLD Restaurant.

10:30 am - Country boy mine tour.

12:30 pm - Lunch at Breckenridge Tap House.

2 pm - Museum visit or rest back at the cabin.

4 pm - Breckenridge Nordic Center gondola ride or drive to the Breckenridge Overlook.

6 pm - Supper at Michael’s Italian Restaurant.

Day 4: More hiking

Second hike near the cabin, then a tour in downtown Breckenridge, learning about strange events that took place.

9 am - Breakfast at your cabin.

10 am - Sapphire Point, a paved hike overlooking Lake Dillion.

12:30 pm - Lunch at Bird + Cow.

2 pm - Strange but true tour. A historic walking tour covering interesting facts about Breckenridge.

4 pm - Explore downtown or back to cabin for a break.

6 pm - Supper at the Blue Stag Saloon.

8 pm - Put gas in the car before heading back (lots of driving tomorrow!)

Day 5: Scenic drive

Scenic drive day. Make sure to pack snacks for the road!

10 am - Brunch at Bread + Salt. Eat big, this is a long day! The restaurant is on the way to the Top of the Rockies scenic drive.

11:30 am - Officer’s Gulch hiking area. This seems like a good place to stop and walk around, some trails to a nearby lake but don’t get lost.

Noon - Rocky Mountain Coaster, buy tickets at Copper Mountain Guest Services.

1 pm - Clinton Gulch Dam Reservoir, a rest stop with a view, don’t stop too long, you need to be in Leadville, a 20-minute drive, by 1:45 pm.

1:45 pm - Find parking and go to the Leadville Scenic Train

2 pm - Leadville Scenic Train ride (they have snacks on board but you can bring your own). This is about a two-and-a-half hour ride.

5 pm - Supper at Quincy’s Steak & Spirits.

8 pm - Back at the cabin, about an hour drive from Leadville.

Day 6: Museums and mini golf

Easy day of museums and mini golf after a long day of driving.

9 am - Breakfast at Columbine Cafe.

10:30 am - Breckenridge History: Lomax Mine.

Noon -Lunch at the Canteen Tap House.

2 pm - Mini Golf at Epic Discovery Park.

4 pm - Rest at your cabin.

6 pm - Supper at Quandary Tequila Bistro.

Day 7: Enjoy more scenery

Last full day! Enjoy the beautiful overlooks and have a great final dinner!

8 am- Early breakfast at BreckFast.

9:30 am - Blue Lake Trail, a popular and easy hike for viewing fall foliage, gets busy so go early to find parking).

11 am - Drive down to Hoosier Pass, another great stop to look out at the fall foliage.

Noon - Ollie’s Pub & Grub, a restaurant on the Blue River.

1:30 pm - Last day to shop and pick up any souvenirs

2:30 pm - Relax and pack at the cabin.

6 pm - Two options for dinner, Hearthstone or Legends Steaks and Seafood. You will likely need a reservation for either.

Day 8: Travel day home

9 am - Check out of cabin and drive back to Denver.

11 am - Brunch at Village Inn if you feel you have time, this diner is by the airport.

Noon - Check in at the airport.

2:55 pm - Flight Home.
