Day 1: Explore Westminster

Begin your exploration of London with a visit to the historic Westminster area. Marvel at the iconic clock tower of Big Ben and admire the intricate Gothic architecture of Westminster Abbey, soaking in centuries of history.

Take a leisurely stroll through the scenic surroundings of St. James's Park, enjoying the peaceful ambiance and picturesque views of the lake and gardens.

Next, make your way to Buckingham Palace, where you can witness the Changing of the Guard ceremony and experience the grandeur of British royalty.

Continue your journey to Trafalgar Square, home to the impressive Nelson's Column and surrounded by iconic landmarks and bustling activity.

Indulge in the vibrant atmosphere of Covent Garden, which is also the neighborhood I recommend staying in for a first visit, where you can explore eclectic shops, enjoy street performances, and savor delicious cuisine at one of the many charming cafes and restaurants. Don’t forget to check out Seven Dials market for the best chai at Chai Guys or the world’s first cheese conveyor belt at Pick and Cheese.

Conclude your day with a visit to Chinatown, immersing yourself in the rich culture and flavors of East Asia with a sumptuous meal of dim sum and noodles.

Day 2: Tower Bridge and Various Markets

Start your day with a scenic walk along the Thames River, enjoying the iconic views of London's skyline and landmarks. You can even catch an Uber boat that runs up and down the river or numerous boat adventures.

Visit the famous Tower Bridge, where you can marvel at its impressive architecture and take in panoramic views of the city from its elevated glass walkways and amazing views up and down the river. I highly recommend you make reservations ahead of time for this one, you will end up walking right past the queue and into the tower.

Explore Borough Market, one of London's oldest and most vibrant food markets, where you can sample a wide array of gourmet delights and culinary treasures from around the world. Don’t miss the chocolate covered strawberries or a treat from Humble Crumble.

Continue your journey to Leadenhall Market, a historic covered market dating back to the 14th century, renowned for its stunning architecture and unique shopping experience, it even provided inspiration for the magical shopping district in Harry Potter.

Ascend to the Sky Garden, located atop one of London's tallest skyscrapers, for breathtaking views of the city and a chance to relax amidst lush greenery in this urban oasis. You can book free reservations for this location 3 weeks in advance or dine at one of the restaurants.

In the evening, immerse yourself in theater. The West End of London is renowned worldwide for its vibrant theater scene, featuring a diverse array of acclaimed productions in historic venues. Such shows as the longest-running musical, "Les Misérables," whose timeless story continues to captivate audiences night after night.

Day 3: Notting Hill and Kensington Palace

Begin your day by exploring the charming neighborhood of Notting Hill, known for its colorful houses, trendy cafes, and vibrant atmosphere.

Visit Kensington Palace, a historic royal residence turned museum, where you can discover centuries of royal history and explore the beautiful gardens surrounding the palace.

Continue your exploration of Kensington by wandering through Hyde Park, one of London's largest and most picturesque green spaces, offering opportunities for leisurely walks, boating on the Serpentine Lake, or cycling along scenic paths.

In the early evening, treat yourself to a traditional British afternoon tea at Fortnum & Mason, a prestigious department store with a history dating back over 300 years. Indulge in a selection of sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam, and a variety of delectable pastries in the elegant surroundings of the Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon.

Day 4: Camden Market and Abbey Road

Begin your day at Camden Market, a bustling marketplace offering a diverse array of goods and culinary delights from around the world. Explore the maze of stalls, sampling international cuisine and browsing for unique souvenirs amidst the lively atmosphere. Grab lunch here and walk along the canals.

Next head to Abbey Road to experience a piece of music history. Cross the iconic zebra crossing and visit Abbey Road Studios to learn about the recording legacy of The Beatles.

Then visit the Sherlock Holmes Museum at 221B Baker Street. Step into the fictional world of the famous detective, exploring meticulously recreated rooms and artifacts from the stories.

After a day of exploring Camden Market and Abbey Road, venture into the lively streets of Soho for an evening of eclectic experiences and home to some fantastic record shops like Rough Trade, Sister Ray and Phonica Records.

Day 5: Exploring Harry Potter’s London

Your final day will be a magical day exploring Harry Potter’s London. Begin your magical journey at King's Cross Station, where you can visit Platform 9¾. Pose for a photo at the iconic Platform 9¾ sign and push your trolley through the wall, just like Harry Potter and his friends. Explore the Harry Potter shop nearby, where you can find an array of wizarding merchandise and souvenirs to commemorate your visit.

Directly across the street is St. Pancras International Station. Marvel at the stunning architecture of the station, which served as the exterior filming location for the Hogwarts Express in the Harry Potter films. Take a moment to admire the impressive statue of a couple embracing, known as "The Meeting Place," located beneath the station's iconic clock tower.

Embark on a walking tour of London to discover additional Harry Potter filming locations. Most well-known is likely the Millennium Bridge, walk across the pedestrian bridge, featured in "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" during the Death Eater attack.

Conclude your magical day with a visit to the Palace Theatre in London's West End, where you can experience "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child," a two-part stage play based on an original story by J.K. Rowling. Immerse yourself in the enchanting world of Harry Potter as you witness the next chapter of the saga unfold on stage.
