Curator’s statement

Having lived in Poblenou for over eight years, this neighborhood has become more than just a place to call home — it's an inspiring workspace for a digital nomad like myself. The blend of the industrial past with a growing artistic scene provides a unique backdrop that sparks creativity and productivity. Being close to the beach offers a refreshing escape, perfect for a break or end-of-day relaxation. Plus, Poblenou’s larger cafes and coworking spaces are ideal for getting work done, offering a tranquil environment away from the bustling tourist spots of Barcelona.

Things to do in Poblenou

A patron works and enjoys the sunlit space and greenery inside Itnig Coworking.

Places to work

Casa Taos: A place to come for quality products and inspiration. It can get busy, but if you're lucky, you can get a work pass at the sustainability lab, Nest City Lab.

Sopa: Spacious with the ability to charge your laptop. Offers a variety of food options and has a yoga studio next door.

Itnig Coworking: Spacious and functional with decent coffee and lunch options. A good place to get work done. You can also get a day pass for their coworking space. They host several events for startups and others, making it a good place to meet people.

Cafe Mensanna: Located in the student area, offering good prices and a lunch menu. The friendly staff lets you stay around to work if it’s not busy.

Federal Cafe Poblenou: Although I never go, I know it from their other locations. This location is super close to the beach and a good place to work with good drinks and snack options.

Ombu Cafe: A small hidden gem with terraces on both the front and back, which include a small indoor courtyard. Cozy with good coffee, but rather small.

Other than that, close to Arc de Triomf and Parc de la Ciutadella, you also have Orval Studio, Juice Dudes, Brew Coffee and Honest Greens.

Places to eat & drink in Poblenou

Platters of food line a table at sunlit restaurant Cacho.

To take a break in your day or have a bite or drink after your workday, I can recommend:

  • Cacho - All-day dining and drinks.

  • Desoriente - Plant-based Asian fusion cuisine.

  • Blu Bar — Plant-based with a great terrace.

Please note that the above recommendations tend to be biased towards plant-based and dog-friendly locations, as that is my preference.
