Beaches/Beach Clubs

Coccaro Beach Club: This was my favorite beach club in Puglia. The restaurant was unparallel in comparison to other clubs' restaurants. The set-up is ideal for swimming, water sports and is very family-friendly. They even have a small room for massages.

Cala Masciola Beach Club: This is the beach club at Borgo Egnazia. The chairs and daybeds here are very comfortable and idea for all day lounging. When you rent chairs here you also have access to Cala Masciola Restaurant which has lovely Apulian dishes.

Faraglioni di Sant’Andrea: The most beautiful swimming spot built into the rocky coast. You will likely find that you are the only tourist there as it is all local Italians. The landscape has spectacular stone arches and sparkling clear waters.

Pro tip: Bring a beach chair or inflatable lounge so you can rest comfortably on the rocks.

Towns to Visit

Otranto: Otranto is certainly one of Puglia's most charming towns and is well worth a visit. The imposing castle, thick perimeter walls and robust towers (built after the town was liberated from the Turks in the late 15th century) dominate much of the town, giving way to a small port, a series of sea-front promenades with excellent fish restaurants and the town's very own beautiful white sandy beach and turquoise waters.

Lecce: Lecce is known for it's marvelous Baroque architecture and famous rustico pastries. It is a cultural epicenter of Puglia and is a "must-see". Wonder through the streets to find authentic Italian boutiques and visit the Basilica di Santa Croce to marvel at it's facade.

Ostuni: Ostuni is a small jewel in the greater region of Puglia. It is a charming town built on a hill to reveal spectacular views of the coast. It almost feels more like a Greek island rather than an ancient Italian city.

Lama Monachille: Famous rocky beach nestled into rugged ruins. Space is limited so it is key to get there early, but if you would prefer to just enjoy the view check out Terrazze Monachille for lunch.

Activities

Boat Tour: Get out on the water to explore the hidden caves along the rugged coast line. This is the best way to see a lot of Puglia in a short period of time.

Due Camini: Amazing Michelin star restaurant at the one and only - Borgo Egnazia. The chef beautifully blends traditional Apulian dishes with Mediterranean flare.

La Calce: While not everyone loves vegetarian food, this restaurant does it extremely well. Some even say it is the best restaurant within Borgo Egnazia. Think traditional Puglian food with a modern twist.

Locorotondo - Da Bina: Fabulous restaurant that feels as though you are in a white stone wine cellar. The dishes are elegant and the wine list is plentiful.

3 Rane: Best restaurant in Lecce. This spot has very few tables so it is key to book ahead of time. Great options for an extensive pre-fix menu and à la carte.

Cafe Alvino: The perfect breakfast spot in Lecce. This is where the famous Rustico pastry was invented - this is a "must taste"!

400 Gradi: Great spot for a quick or sit-down lunch - amazing fire-grilled pizza with an extensive menu of options.

Tentazioni: Restaurant and bar in the main center of Lecce, also serves delicious gelato.

Terrazze Monachille: Breathtaking views overlooking one of Puglia's most famous beaches - Monachille. Highly recommend as a lunch option for fresh seafood, pasta and drinks.
